I couldn't believe it. The other Mythical; we had met. A Sorcerer.
"What...how? It's super rare now that the Mythicals placed on Earth find each other. The last time that happened was 100 years ago." I breathed.
"Now what?" The Sorcerer asked, then turned to me.
"Don't look at me!" I exclaimed.
"Zayn! Get inside, you're gonna catch something!" My eyes grew wide as someone else came out of the house. I quickly hid in the forest.
Shit. Liam had come out again.
"Liam, I thought you had already went to..."
"Well, it's cold out, and we can't have you sick for the concert, remember?" Liam replied.
"I'll go back inside in a little bit." Liam nodded and closed the door. Emmeline peeked out from where she was hiding, fear etched on her face.
"W-who was that?" She stuttered.
"I...that was one of my bandmates. We all live together. They don't mean any harm."
"Do they know about...well, your powers?" Emmeline stepped closer.
"No. Not yet." I looked at the ground. "But, how come you were swimming in the lake? I thought all Merpeople had pools in their yards."
"I...I don't have a home." Emmeline looked up at me. I had never really taken account of her eyes; a light purple with blue specks. "I come here every night and swim."
"Well, if you don't have a home, you can come live with us, if you like." Good going Zayn. Now not only are you going to expose yourself, but you'll expose Emmeline too.
"I'd...I'd like that. I'll actually have a place in this world than just another mouth to feed."
"Nonononono, don't say that. You're just as special as I am." I gripped her shoulders. She looked down at my hands and I removed them. "Sorry."
"It's okay, I'm just not used to people doing...this." Emmeline sighed. "I was placed in a town in Wisconsin. That's why I sound different." I nodded.
"I think we have a spare room that you can use. But I guess for now you can sleep on the couch."
"Okay. Thank you, Sorcerer."
"Zayn. That's what my name is."
"Zayn..." Emmeline repeated. "Okay. Let's go. This is where you live right? Wait..." She groaned. "I'm stupid."
"No, you just weren't thinking at the time. Yeah, this is where I live."
"Then, what are we waiting for?" Emmeline's eyes brightened.
