Together at Last

Two girls, hours apart. They've never met face to face, and yet, they didn't trust anyone but each other. Two girls, polar opposite in looks, but identical in personality. Two girls, longing to see each other. Even if just for a day, as long as they could see each other in person. Because these two girls were the best of friends, and nothing would hurt them more than never getting to see each other.

One of these girls, Bailee, was already suffering from depression. And the thought of never being able to meet the one person she loved most, let's just say it didn't help her condition. Not to mention the amount of injuries she continuously endures. To add on to that, she is always getting sick. May it be strep, or a common cold, she's always sick. Her immune system too weak to keep infection away.

The other girl, Allie, was beautiful and amazing. Injuries come less to her than to her best friend. But they did come. She had no major illnesses, no physiological disorders, nothing wrong with her. If anything, she was perfect, at least in Bailee's eyes she was.

These two girls met through the most unlikely of common denominators. They met through the one and only Louis Tomlinson. Both girls became close to him before he introduced them to each other. Months and months of Kik messages were passed between the three friends. And through the fights, tears, love, hatred, and even jealousy, they've remained as tightly bound as they could possibly be.

Slowly, Bailee made her way out of bed, pushing her feet into warm slippers. Her arms lifted above her head in a stretch as she felt her phone vibrating from somewhere in the bed. She had a bad habit of falling asleep with it in her hands. Chewing on her lip, she pulled her three comforters off the bed and scanned the mattress for the green little device. Moving her pillow pet, Liam the Mini Frog, her search came to an end.

From: Momma 🐻

'Make sure you clean the house, we have guests coming over'

Rolling her eyes, she made her way down the creaky steps. When finally downstairs, she made her way across the small house and to the back door. Her mother must have let the dogs out and forgotten to let them back in, because when the door opens, the black terrier tackles her to the ground. Smothering her in kisses. With a large grunt, she made her way back on her feet and trudged into the living room again.

The guests that were most likely coming over were just her mothers friends. So she didn't understand why she had to clean the house. It was Saturday, she and Allie had planned to FaceTime all day and night, maybe even pull an all nighter. And thanks to her mother, so noo get would be able to. At least not during the day. With a heavy sigh, she began cleaning the dirty house.

While she cleaned she kept the tv on E! News, just to see if her Louis had done anything stupid worth hearing about lately. She hadn't heard from him in quite some time, and she was beginning to loose faith that he still remembered her. Maybe it was just her depression, but she felt forgotten. Though, she's long since gotten used to that feeling. It just hurt a little more with Louis. He wS her rock, the one she went to for everything. And she needed him, because he was her home.

To: Allie-Baby 😘

Can't FaceTime today babe. Mom's got me cleaning all day so our guests can come over. Sorry 😔

Pulling her lip between her teeth, she continued the heavy-duty house work. She worked all day, without a single word from Allie. Pushing the thought of texting her again to the back out her mind, she let her mind drift off the everything she had to do today. Bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room. She already had the living room, kitchen and dining room crossed off. So all she had to do was her bathroom and then her parents bathroom. Then her bedroom.

She hummed as she wiped everything in her bathroom down. Her humming turned into mumbling the lyrics. And that turned into full out singing.

B-b-b-baby c'mon over

I don't care if people find out (dada - dadada - da - da - da - da)

They say that we're no good together

And it's never gonna work out (dada - dadada - da - da - da - da)

But baby you got me moving too fast

'Cause I know you wanna be bad

And girl when you're lookin' like that (dada - dadada)

I can't hold back.

'Cause you, you've got this spell on me

I don't know what to believe

Kiss you once now I can't leave

'Cause everything you do is magic

But everything you do is magic.

So l-l-let them take the pictures

Spread it all around the world now (dada - dadada - da - da - da - da)

I wanna put it on my record

I want everyone to know now (dada - dadada - da - da - da - da)

But baby you got me moving too fast

'Cause I know you wanna be bad

And girl when you're lookin' like that (dada - dadada)

I can't hold back.

'Cause you, you've got this spell on me

I don't know what to believe

Kiss you once now I can't leave

'Cause everything you do is magic

But everything you do is magic.

Oh oh oh oh oh

Oh oh oh oh oh

Oh oh oh oh oh

Everything you do is magic.

They say that we're no good together

And it's never gonna work out

I wanna put it on my record

I want everyone to know now.

Everything you do is magic

Everything you do is magic

Everything you do is magic

Everything you do is magic.

'Cause you, you've got this spell on me

I don't know what to believe

Kiss you once now I can't leave

'Cause everything you do is magic

But everything you do is magic.

Oh oh oh oh oh

Oh oh oh oh oh

C'mon

Kiss you once now I can't leave

'Cause everything you do is magic

But everything you do is magic.

She sang the song countless times, always emphasizing on Niall and Louis's solos. After the bathroom was cleaned, she started on the half-bath in her parents room. She was in the middle of singing Unpredictable by 5 Seconds Of Summer when the tv caught her attention.

"There seems to be some sort of tour bus blocking the main entrance of a neighbor hood along Lincoln Way East," the woman on the screen spoke. Bailee looked up and dropped the toilet brush, walking out into the living room. "The bus seems to belong to the world famous boy band, One Direction." Her eyes scanned the details of the street, and sure enough, that was the entrance to her very own neighborhood. "The boys are standing on top of the bus with mic stands, and there's a young lady with them-."

She didn't stay to hear the rest, instead she pulled jeans on and a hoodie. Slipping into her shoes, she ran out the door, hopping the railing of her porch. She ran as fast as she could to the entrance of her neighborhood, and, as predicted, there they stood. Her eyes widened as they began singing, singing the song she felt was written for her.

Because her family doesn't want her, to them she's just a maid. She's never belonged anywhere, not until she met Louis and Allie. And she thought she lost her place when she and Niall got into a fight. But Louis assured her she still had a family. And she knew she belonged with the four Brits and the one Irish lad. Even if the Irish lad didn't want her anymore, she belonged with them.

Been a lot of places.

I've been all around the world.

Seen a lot of faces.

Never knowing where I was.

On the horizon.

Oh, well, I know, I know, I know, I know the sun will be rising

Back home.

Living out of cases,

Packing up and taking off.

Made a lot of changes

But not forgetting who I was.

On the horizon.

Oh, well, I know, I know, I know, I know the moon will be rising

Back home.

Don't forget where you belong-home.

Don't forget where you belong-home.

If you ever feel alone-don't.

You were never on your own.

And the proof is in this song.

I've been away for ages

But I've got everything I need.

I'm flicking through the pages.

I've written in my memory.

I feel like I'm dreaming.

Oh, so I know, I know, I know, I know that I'm never leaving.

No, I won't go.

Don't forget where you belong-home.

Don't forget where you belong-home.

If you ever feel alone-don't.

You were never on your own.

And the proof is in this song.

Lights off when they should be on.

Even stars in the skies, they're wrong.

Short days when the nights are long

When I think of the things I've done

Don't matter how far I've gone-

I'm always feeling at home.

Oh.

Don't forget where you belong-home.

Don't forget where you belong (don't forget it)-home.

If you ever feel alone-don't.

You were never on your own.

Never, never, never.

Don't forget where you belong-home.

Don't forget where you belong (don't forget it)-home.

If you ever feel alone-don't.

You were never on your own (you were never).

And the proof is in this song.

Home.

Don't forget it.

Home.

If you ever feel alone-don't.

You were never on your own (you were never).

And the proof is in this song.

Never forget it.

This song.

Don't forget it!

No, I never forget it.

This song.

You were never...

Tears were in her eyes by the end of the song, because she knew it was directed at her. She knew they hadn't forgotten her, neither of them. And so, when Allie rushed off the bus and engulfed her in her arms, she knew she was home.

"I don't think I can make the FaceTime date tonight, babe. I'm hanging out with my sister," Allie whispered, pulling her even closer than before. Bailee pretended to be upset, but they both fell into a fit of giggles. When she felt another pair of strong arms around her, she melted into them.

"Sorry I haven't talked to you in a while babe. Allie and I were planning this out," Louis's squeakyish voice whispered, a sloppy kiss landing on her cheek. "We wanted it to be perfect, and she was having such a hard time keeping it a secret, I told her to ignore you." He was snickering behind her as Allie looked up apologetically.

"It's okay," she giggles, kissing both Allie's cheek. She has yet to see Louis up close and in person, and if she was being honest, she was scared. Scared this was all just a dream and she would wake up. If it was a dream , she didn't want to wake up. Not ever. If waking up meant losing the small sliver of hope that this was real, them she'd stay asleep forever.

Slowly, she turned around, her eyes traveling up the length that is Louis's body. She took in every tiny detail, prodding his stomach and touching him as much as she possibly could. She had to make such he was real, and she when she got the his face, her fingers traced the stubble growing on his chin. She giggled softly as they honked his nose, and laughed even harder when he nibbled on her finger. He was real, and she knew it.

As she looked at his lips, she remembered when she had told him she loved him. That he was her one and only, and she hadn't thought of Niall in weeks because she was so infatuated with Louis. And he turned her down, because Louis was with Harry. And while that familiar sting of rejection rang through her body, she also found a sense of peace. She had finally come to terms that he was not hers, he never really was.

And so, when a sheepish Niall walked up to her, she looked up at him with innocent eyes. She was very much in love with him, that much she knew. But, she was also very angry at him. They had talked for quite a while, and all the while he was giving one word answers. Eventually she called him out on it, telling him how she felt he hated her. And they've never talked since then. But as Niall's hand reaches out for her, she doesn't deny him.

She gives in to temptation, taking his hand in her dainty one. Slowly, she let's her eyes trail along the lovely man. She reaches out, pressing her free hand flat to his stomach. Only the feel the prominent ridges of his abs. Her hand slides up his chest, taking in every single detail. She stops on his left peck, smiling as she feels his rapid heart beat beneath her touch. She loved how she made him feel, because it's how she felt. Slowly, she lifted her hand to cup his face, her thumb ran along his cheek.

Quietly, she took her hand away, her index lightly tracing the outline of his lips. As she continued to touch his lips, her eyes traveled up to his hair. No longer did the blonde weave through it. His natural hair shown. And she giggled slightly at a funny thought: it's like they've literally made the brunette quiff gang. They were all brunettes now, and each one of the boys sported a quiff. She loved it, if she was being honest.

"You're not blonde anymore.." Her voice finally sounded, in merely a whisper. Her grey eyes locked onto blue ones and she blushes deeply as he opened his mouth, letting her fingers fall in so he could nibble on them. When she pulled her hand away, he spoke.

"Louis said you like it better brunette.." he admitted sheepishly, he always was the quiet type. She nodded and smiled up at him, still mad, but glad he's here with her. "I'm sorry about the fight, in fact, I was being a dick. I was going through a breakup of sorts, but that's no excuse. And I'm here to say, I'm yours. If you'll have me.." The crowd around them had fallen silent, each girl waiting for Bailee's answer.

She gulped, she's been waiting for this moment for six months. Six months of believing Niall didn't want her. Six months of thinking he had forgotten about her. Six months of being jealous of whoever he was said to be with next. Six months of agony, and unbearable sadness. In these six months, because of what happened, her depression had gotten worse. She suddenly wondered if he knew about all that. About her depression, and him making it worse by what he had done.

But she was a forgiving girl. And so, when she looked up into the sparkling blue eyes with her own dull grey ones, she nodded. A small 'yes' fell from her lips as she crashed them to his.

Six months she had waited for this feeling. And here it finally was. She was kissing the Niall. Her Niall.

After they pulled away she turned to find Liam and Allie holding hands. A wink was sent their way, unseen by Liam but definitely caught by Allie. She walked up, hugging Liam tightly and whispering a small 'take care of her' in his ear. He nodded, giving her a tight squeeze back.

"So are you two a thing then?" Allie and Bailee asked each other at the same time. Both girls giggled and nodded, smiling widely at each other. Soon, hands covered her eyes and a deep 'guess who' sounded in her ear.

With a small giggle, she pretended to think. "Hmm.." she drew out. "I'll say.. Harry?" A loud groan was heard behind her, sending her into a fit of giggles.

"How'd you know?" the tall man whined, much like a boy. She watched as he crossed his arms and pretended to pout. Both of them only to burst into a fit of giggles. It wasn't even awkward between any of them, just amazing. Scratch that, as Zayn walked up to Bailee, things got very awkward.

"It's nice to finally meet you, the boys never shut up about you," he joked, breaking the ice. She laughed softly, smiling up at the Bradford boy. Over the past year of conversing with these boys, she had never talked to Zayn. And that sort of saddened her, because she had all these personal connections and inside jokes with all of them. Except Zayn.

"Yeah, well, don't go being a stranger. Ya hear?" He pulled her into a warm hug and mumbled a 'yeh'.

"Are you sure you're not a wizard?" Louis inquired, earning a smile from Bailee. Everybody raised an eyebrow except Allie, because she knew the joke. And so, Bailee went into a full on explanation.

"The first time Louis and I talked, I always knew exactly what he was doing. And he asked if I was a wizard. We had a ten minute debate about where I hide my wand and robes. But finally, thankfully, he came to the conclusion that I am not, in fact, a wizard. Just good at guessing what he's doing," she told them all. [1] everyone laughed loudly at her explanation.

The rest of the night was spent like that. They all came back to her house and she say on Niall's lap ("But I'm too heavy!" she'd shouted. Only to receive a 'shut up and sit' from her boyfriend) and Allie sat on Liam's. They told jokes and explained inside jokes all night. They laughed and at some points ended up crying from laughing. They all went out to dinner and laughed over the table as well.

And all night, the only thing Bailee could think, was that she finally belonged somewhere. And that was with her family.
