I sat and cried on Daniel's shoulder for about an hour, my mom came in and checked in on me. The second time she came in, she took Daniel and talked to him. When she returned to my room, he wasn't with her, this hurt me a little.
"Get dressed," she said.
"I am," I looked down at my shorts and shirt.
"No, get dressed nicely."
"Why?" I asked, I was still hurt.
"You and Daniel are going out for dinner."
"Mom I appreciate what you're doing, and Daniel is nice."
"So what's the problem," she interrupted me.
"I don't know if I want to date."
"Oh honey, it will help and Daniel is a nice guy."
"I know he is mom, but-"
She interrupted me, "no buts, get dressed now you are going to dinner with Daniel."
"Fine," I groaned and got up.
After about an hour, I was ready.
When I went downstairs, Daniel was standing there. He was in a nice pair of jeans and a dress shirt. I wasn't ready for this, but I knew my mom would make me go so I didn't argue. The car ride was silent, but when we got there we began to talk. We ordered and our food came quickly, the place wasn't very busy. After we were done eating we ordered dessert. I got a chocolate cheese cake. Once we were done with that, we paid and then we headed home. Or at least thought so, he took me down to the park. I wasn't sure what was going to happen, it scared me a little. Then, I saw Trey, I froze. Daniel held my hand and I relaxed a little, but I felt dizzy.
We got away from Trey without him seeing us, which was a good thing. He laid down in the grass, and I sat next to him. I didn't know what to expect or what to say. Then he rolled over and looked at me.
"AnnaBell, I have a question for you." He looked at me.
"Uh, okay." I was a little nervous.
"I know we just met, and we don't each other well. But, I like you."
"I like you too, I just-" I froze.
"Do you want to be my girlfriend?" He asked.
I froze, "I like you, Daniel, but I don't know."
He looked at me, and I could tell he was a little hurt.
