Neil's P.O.V; July 7
My eye's shoot open and I see the stars in the sky, my clothes feel the slightest bit damp. I lift my head, wrenching pain races through my body, but I see my feet still in the water followed upward by a blue dress and a mess light brown hair laying on me. I set my hand on the back of my head from the pain and feel the red liquid drip into my hand as I lay back on the ground. My eyes slowing close seeing two big blue eyes stare at me as I fade to black.
I woke up to what looked like Lacey screaming and shaking me, tears in her eyes. I starred at her confused, her arms wrapped around my neck I could feel her rainy eyes as I fell to the ground; I lay on the ground with her clung to me, all I could do is embrace her. She looked at me water still in her eyes, I run my thumb across her face and she bares a small smile. Mouthing words I watch her, my hearing must have been taken during the train escape. I give her a puzzled look and a just as confused stare is returned, "I can't hear you," I try to say in a soft I didn't really know how I sounded, but tears began to come to her eyes again, I tried to sit up to comfort her; but was stopped by the tensing pain in my head. Lacey's hand quickly holding my head, but she moved her hand away and starred at the blood on her hand. Tears streamed down her face as she shook her head afraid I was going to die and leave her. I smiled and shake my head hushing her, I brace myself to stand up holding Lacey in my arms as I begin to walk into the forest.
I wake to see the sun in my face and Lacey on my chest as I rest against a tree. I stare in front of me as I see a set of rocks set in a circle. I have no recollection of heat or fire, but Lacey could have made a fire. I see her eyes slightly open, still tired and half asleep, I pick her up again as we start to walk again. I honestly don't know where we are going, just wander, but I enjoy it the forest is amazing during the day; quite and beautiful.
It's been probably about a day or so since being separated from Rider. Neil has seemed to loose his hearing so I can't tell him anything, which I wish I could, but all I can do is occasionally point out a butterfly and bring a smile to his face. Mostly I rest in his arms as he wanders the forest carrying me. Though it hasn't been that long my dress is half covered in dirt in dried mud, Neil as well and his sleeves torn away no longer on his arms.
We find quite a large village from wandering through the forest, selling lots of objects and creations. The perfect time to buy new and cleaner clothing. I walk up to someone, and Neil walks over to talk to them; but I hold my hand up to him and he stops, I give him a smile walking over a woman selling. I know I have become more mature since we got off the train. Not just because Neil can't do much with the lack of hearing, but I've been able to have much more thought since then. We received our clothing, they had a very native feeling to them, native to the forest. I felt in touch with the forest; a loose colorful shirt with beads and a medium length skirt made of leather. Though it had no similarities to the forest I felt new, Neil seem the same a white button up shirt and black pants. I smile as I see him standing in the sun eating a little something that was being sold, I run over and grab his hand and drag him away into the forest.
