I stared at the two beds in the hotel room, and then looked up at Shawn. "You realize the problem, don't you?"
"Yeah," He replied, "There are three of us and only two beds."
"Well I'm not sleeping on the floor." Hunter commented.
I rubbed my temples in frustration. "Okay, Shawn and Hunter take the first bed and I'll take the second."
Hunter looked appalled by my suggestion. "Are you crazy? He's a dude, I'm a dude. Do you even realize how awkward that would be?"
I threw my hands up in the air as a sign of defeat. "Alright fine, I give up! I'm not sleeping in a bed with either of you so you two figure this out while I get ready for bed." I grabbed my camo duffle bag and went into the bathroom. I quickly changed into a Motörhead tank-top and a pair of red, flannel pajama pants before brushing my teeth and putting my DX shirt and cargos into my bag and leaving.
"Alright Ash, we got this figured out!" Shawn exclaimed cheerfully.
"That's fantastic." I mumbled sarcastically as I tossed my bag at the chair across the room and curled up under the blankets.
Both Shawn and Hunter grabbed their bags and headed for the bathroom, but Shawn got there first. "To slow Hunt." He mocked as he locked the door behind him so Hunter couldn't throw him out.
Hunter let out an annoyed groan and sat down on the other bed. "So...what's up?"
I narrowed my eyes at him. "Are you just asking random questions again?"
He looked nervously around the room then back at me. "No..."
I groaned and pulled the blankets over my head and rolled away from him. I was exhausted and I just wanted to sleep.
"Aw c'mon, don't be like that." Hunter begged.
Dramatically I pushed the blankets away from me and glared at him. "I am tired. I angered CM Punk and almost got killed by him. If it wasn't for Matt and Jeff I would've been toast." I growled, "Now please, let me sleep."
At that moment Shawn came out of the bathroom in his red and black flannel pajamas. "I thought you said you were going to be good while we were gone."
"I never make promises that I can't keep." I replied like a smart alec, "Besides, if I did you should've known better."
Shawn was about to come up with a smart rebuttal, but he realized I was right. "Just go to bed." He sighed in annoyance.
Hunter snickered before gathering his pajamas and heading to the bathroom.
I grinned at Shawn. "No problem." The second I heard the shower running in the bathroom, my mood changed entirely. "How could you tell Jeff I liked Hunter?" I hissed.
"Jeff was curious. He had a hunch you liked somebody so I told him." Shawn replied innocently.
I thought about for a second and realized I never told him I liked Hunter. "How the hey did you even find out?"
"You made it all too obvious." He chuckled, "The only reason Hunter hasn't figured it out is because he's too oblivious to see the signs."
"Don't tell anybody else." I growled authoritatively. I pulled the covers up to my nose and snuggled into a comfortable position. I was almost asleep a few minutes later when heard the bathroom door open, but I didn't think much of it until somebody crawled into the bed beside me. I groaned and rolled over, only to see Hunter's face just inches from mine. "What the heck!" I shrieked as I jumped out of bed.
"What," Hunter asked, "We said we had our sleeping arrangements figured out."
I scowled at Hunter, then at Shawn. "What the hell were you thinking?"
"I was thinking that I'm not sleeping in a bed with another guy and it would just be weird sharing a bed with you." Shawn replied in an irritated tone. "And watch the language missy."
"But...why do I have to share a bed with Hunter?" I whined, "I don't wanna!"
"It's just for tonight and I trust Hunter won't try anything." Shawn said, emphasizing Hunter's name.
"Alright fine," I mumbled in displeasure, "I get half the bed, you get half the bed...and so help me god if you cross over into my half-"
I was glad Shawn interrupted me; I didn't have any type of punishment in mind. "That's enough Ashlan, he gets it." Shawn said.
"Good night." I said gruffly as I got back in bed and curled up under the covers. I laid there for awhile, looking up at the ceiling, unable to sleep, until I heard the sound of Hunter's steady breathing, telling me he was asleep. I then rolled over and looked at Shawn before calling out to him in a low voice. "Shawn...Shawn."
"I was almost asleep," He groaned groggily, "What do you want?"
"This was all your idea, I hate you." I whispered.
Shawn closed his eyes and gave me a childish grin. "Yeah, I know you do."
"If we didn't have a match in a week you'd so be dead." I mumbled before turning away from him.
"Good night to you too." He yawned.
Soon I could hear Shawn's steady breathing meaning I was the only one awake. I looked over at Hunter who was facing me. 'At least he can sleep' I thought as I let out a huge yawn. I closed my eyes and slowly drifted into a dreamless sleep.
I jolted awake from another nightmare. I've been having them over and over again ever since I made the hasty decision to have DX fight Legacy at Hell in a Cell. Every time I fall asleep I always see Shawn and Ash getting the holy heck beat out of them while I was locked outside the cell, forced to watch as my teammates were decimated. I would always wake up right as Legacy would pin one of the two, usually Ash, and win the match.
Through the faint moonlight that crept into the room I could just barely make out the time on the wall clock. 2:08. I've only been asleep for two hours, just great. I quietly groaned and rolled towards Ash. At first I thought I might have woken her because she began to stir, but she quickly settled back into a peaceful sleep.
I laid there for a few moments and admired her. Her long, blond hair seemed platinum thanks to the sliver of moonlight peeking through the curtain. Though that was all I could see I could picture her hazel eyes perfectly. And I have to admit, I thought she looked really, really cute when she came out of the bathroom in her tank-top and flannel pajama pants. Wait, what am I saying? There's no way I'm falling for Ash. She's practically Shawn's daughter for heaven's sake! Still...she's always looking out for me and she always sticks by my side even though I don't deserve it, and she takes care of me every time I get hurt, even if it's something as minor as a paper cut. Without thinking I groaned loudly.
Ash stirred beside me and looked over at me. "You alright Hunt?"
"Yeah," I replied, faking a yawn, "My back's just a little sore, that's all." I lied.
"Sleep on your side, it shouldn't hurt." She mumbled groggily. Within a few minutes she was once again asleep.
'Be more careful next time!' I scolded myself. I mentally sighed and looked back at Ash, who was now shivering. Without thinking I wrapped my arms around her. After a few minutes she stopped shivering and snuggled up against my warm chest. Once I thought she was warm I let go of her but she was clinging to the fabric of my shirt and, even though she was asleep, she refused to let go. As I began drifting back to sleep I found myself once again wrapping my arms around her, but I didn't stop myself.
I woke up from a dreamless sleep, only to find Hunter's arms wrapped around me. 'Okay...awkward.' I told myself. I took me a few moments to think of a way out without disturbing Hunter so I carefully tried to wriggle out of Hunter's grasp. That of course was to no avail because when I shifted my position even just slightly he would pull me back to where I started. Just great, I'm stuck here roasting like a freaking pig. I mean seriously, Hunter really retains body heat.
Okay, since escape wasn't an option, I had two choices; fall back asleep or wait until Hunter wakes up. Yeah no, I'm not waiting, god only knows how long it would for Hunter to wake up. Instead I got as much distance (which wasn't much) between me and Hunter and I began dozing off. Just as I was about to fall asleep Hunter began to stir. "Hey Sleeping Beauty." I mumbled in an amused tone.
"Oh hey," He yawned, "How'd you sleep?"
"Oh pretty well," I giggled, "It was good not getting cold at all."
It took Hunter a few moments to figure out what I was hinting at, but once he got it he was freaking out. "Oh my god I'm so sorry!"
"Seriously, you're making a big deal out of this?" I asked, "I mean sure it was awkward to wake up to but it wasn't like an "OMG WTF" moment." In reality, it was an "OMG WTF" moment.
"Shut up you two." Shawn groaned as he turned towards us. "We have to leave at 8 o'clock and I don't want to be tired."
I grabbed my phone off the nightstand beside the bed and checked the time. "Then we have an hour 'til our flight leaves so...I'ma go grab a shower real quick, 'kay?" Before either of them could respond I got up, grabbed my duffle bag, and headed for the bathroom, all the while I couldn't stop thinking about how I woke up this morning.
