14. Back On Track
Instead of sleeping for the whole plane ride, I end up wide awake and hungry. Thankfully, this airplane has food because I was about to die without it. I should of eaten more at Liam's. Everybody complains so much about airplane food but I don't think it's half bad. I would go on airplanes with my parents when I was little a lot so I guess I've grown used to eating it. As soon as the plane landed, my ears pop back to normal and I rushed off the plane so I could breath fresh air. Since I didn't tell Alli I was coming back home today, I took a taxi and planned to surprise her. I twisted the door handle to see that it's locked, as usual, so I used the key Alli gave me. When I opened the door, Alli was stood in front of me with a spatula in her hand. She was just about to swing down until she saw my face.
"Jamie! You're home!" she shrieked, making me plug my ears.
"You nearly killed me!" I confronted her.
"Well you should of told me!" she said as she ran towards me, bringing me into a hug.
"I'm sorry, I just wanted to surprise you."
"How was London?!"
"It was amazing. Liam is such a good date planner."
"He is? What did he do? Where did he take you?" Alli listed a whole bunch of questions for me to answer. Instead, I just sat her down and told her about the whole time. "Awe, he cares about you."
"I know! He's so sweet." I smiled. The rest of the day consisted of us eating ice cream and watching movies. I had a little jet lag so I ended sleeping at 6 and waking up at 2 in the morning. Dragging myself out of the guest bedroom and into the kitchen, I poured myself a bowl of cereal. I popped in a DVD and watched 3 movies before I started cleaning up. After taking a shower, I changed, and did my makeup and hair. Today is the day I have to go back to college.
"What are you doing?" Alli asks groggily from the doorway.
"I'm going back to college today." I sigh. "I'm driving myself." After I was done packing all of my stuff up, Alli and I said our goodbyes and I was on my way back to Chicago. When I got to my apartment, I remembered that I didn't call Liam when I got off the plane. Since it's 7 here, it's 1 in London so I called Liam without any worries with waking him.
"Hello love." Liam spoke into the phone.
"Hey! Sorry I didn't call you when I landed yesterday. I was a little tired so I went to sleep early." I sighed, longing for him to be by my side.
"It's okay. Was Alli surprised?"
"Yeah. She actually almost killed me when I got into the house. I actually have to go. I'm going back to class today."
"Haha, okay. Have fun." I heard his laugh and formed a smile.
"Bye." I hung up and unpacked. After that, I grabbed my books and stuffed them in my purse. As I made my way to the car, it started snowing. I think it's the first snow of the year. I've always hated the cold but the snow is beautiful. I've missed about a month of school so I have a LOT of catching up to do. I walked into my first class to start the day.
It's 7 P.M. when I finish all of my classes. The teachers gave me all of my missed homework assignments along with today's. I get to work right away, writing down the answers quickly since I know all this stuff already. Sometimes, I go to the library on my free time to read educational books. That's how I've been graduating early. Soon, it was 11 P.M. I laid on the couch, in my apartment, exhausted. At least I don't need to work on anything else since I finished everything. I decide on washing up and going to sleep. After I'm done, the warm covers invite me into a deep sleep.
