Saying goodbye to Sweden wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be. I had already mentally moved to England I had never belonged here. But somehow moving to London was hard and the ride to the airport was making me sick, so I rested my head on Niall’s shoulder and closed my eyes and tried to think of something positive.
“Are you sure you’re alright back there Diana?”
“Yeah I’m fine thank you.”
“You don’t look to fine darling.”
“Mum it’s alright. It’s all going to be alright.”
We parked the car when we got to the airport, my dad didn’t want to come so I had said goodbye to him already.
“Are you sure you want to do this Diana?”
“I am sure mum. Besides, it’ll be good for me to finally be home.”
“It will. London has always been your place so hopefully it’ll stay that way. Take good care of each other. I love you two so much.”
“You too mum.”
“Take good care of my girl Niall.”
He smiled and hugged my mum before we left and I hugged her a million times. I was sad to be leaving Sweden. Of course I was but the future I had ahead was much more the person I wanted to be and the person I had to be. My future showed the person I had grown up to become the person I had to become the person I had dreamt of becoming since I was a little child with a camera.
“Jag älskar dig.”
“You too Diana. You too. Call me when you get settled. Maybe it’s time for me to come back and see how it’s all turned out over there.”
I hugged my mum again and then we left to go through security.
I wasn’t feeling to well as I was on the flight but the thought of soon being free and home made me feel a lot better.
Niall held his arms around me and supported me all the way through the journey, and when we got out in London it all helped a lot. We walked through and as soon as we were in the arrivals hall I heard a lot of people scream and standing there with the Swedish and British and English and Irish flag. It was so amazing. People were there to welcome us home and to support that Niall was helping me move.
I was blown away by the people screaming our names and I felt Niall move closer to me and hold his arm around me. I think he must have believed that I was scared but I was everything but scared. I was 100 percent amazed by the amount of people there to welcome me to the country I had partly been living in for the past 4 months.
They all started singing the song One Direction had made with my name in it and I couldn’t help but laugh a little and then started dancing to their song.
Niall smiled and laughed and tried to move me through the airport a little faster but it didn’t help at all. We were there for almost 2 hours because I was having fun with his fans.
I was laughing and filming at the airport. I of course always had a camera with me for situations like this and I loved it.
When Niall finally got my attention again I had taken pictures with about 100 people and sung a few songs from the One Direction Midnight Memories album but I didn’t care because no one had ever shown interest in me like this.
I said goodbye to everyone and left with Niall to get back to our place. At first we were followed by some fans but it didn’t take us long to get back to our apartment.
“It feels different this time.”
“It’s because it is different. It’s your home now.”
I whispered the words and got out of the car with all of my stuff.
“Welcome home to London Diana.”
He kissed me and then took me inside. This was the first time in my life that I finally felt complete. That I was home for real and lived out my dream. It finally happened.
