I woke up the next day feeling slightly out of space, I turned in my bed only to find it filled by no other than my ex-boyfriend Ian Smith.
“I thought you said you went home last night.”
“I was going to but then you passed out and I didn’t finish with the pictures till 4.30.”
“Fuck you then.”
I threw a pillow at him and made my way out of bed. I was only wearing my panties and a t-shirt. It was warm over here so I didn’t need more. I went out into the kitchen where I lit up a cigarette and put some water in the kettle. I needed my morning cigarette and my coffee. It was the two most important things for me.
I was standing there in the kitchen partly naked when Ian came out to me only wearing his boxers and not hiding the fact that he had a boner. Great start of the day I thought to myself as I took another draw of my cigarette and messed my hair a bit more.
“You seem grumpy this morning.”
“Just get the fuck out of my apartment already.”
“Wow you are grumpy.”
“Ian what are you even doing here sleeping in my bed?”
“Hey you were the one who told me to finish my pictures before I left and it got late.”
“Then you should have left anyway. It’s not like it’s taken long to get around London at that hour.”
“What’s the big deal of it anyway?”
“I don’t need people asking why you’ve been staying over for the night.”
“Is that really such a big deal?”
“To me it is ok? There’s a reason I broke up with you.”
“Yeah and what exactly was that again? You needed a break to go back to Sweden and to figure out who you are? Yet you’re back here as soon as you can’t stand being there anymore. Don’t you get it Diana? You belong here. You belong out in the big world you’ve always done.”
“It’s none of your business Ian. Just leave it be.”
“What will you do when he figures out who you really are?”
“Liam knows that I’m the Swedish girl who meets everyone. He doesn’t need to know anything else.”
“Niall is not my problem right now. You are.”
“He fancies you, you know that right.”
“I know, but who doesn’t?”
I shot him a glare and poured the now done coffee into a mug and stamped my cigarette in the ashtray by the sink.
I went into the living room where I saw down in the sofa and looked at my phone.
“Are you gonna do anything about it?”
“About Niall? No I don’t think so. Why would I?”
“Because it would give you some great inside information to sell to the public.”
“Now why would I do that to the poor kid?”
“You pity them?”
“Of course I do, would you like getting a camera showed up your face every five minutes or on every move you make?”
“Why do you do it then?”
“Because of the money and the people I meet. It’s always been about meeting them. Besides I’ve got 10 new photos to add to my collection on facebook now.”
I smiled and sipped my coffee before sitting down with my computer and all the camera stuff. I needed to go through all the pictures from last night and I had some pictures no one else had, something that could actually be made a story out of as long as I couldn’t be wearing some of the clothes I’d been wearing here so far.
“When are you gonna leave me be?”
“After the party tonight.”
“Oh forget about it. I’ll make sure you won’t get in.”
“And how’s that?”
“I know the managers sweetheart. Besides you’re not even on the list. Liam doesn’t know you.”
He rolled his eyes at me and got up from the sofa. I saw him enter the bedroom but I wasn’t sure what he was going to do in there. I logged into my twitter account and went through the new likes and comments from different people that wanted to know where and how I’d met the different people. I usually put it in the description of the picture but it was different from celeb to celeb.
I was sat there editing and posting pictures for a good 30 minutes when Ian came back out into the living room. He was now fully dressed and it was easy to tell that he had taken a shower as well.
“I’m gonna head off now.”
“Alright, see you around.”
“Probably later, there’s probably something going on at Leicester Square or Primrose Hill.”
“As always, might see you there then.”
He waved at me as he left my apartment with all of his stuff and left me sitting there, just as my phone started ringing.
I lit up a cigarette in front of the computer before I moved to the kitchen which was the only room where I usually smoked.
“Yeah, who’s speaking?”
“Liam? How did you get my number?”
“From the club. You’re on my guest list tonight. Just wanted to inform you.”
“Oh, thanks. By the way, is Niall coming?”
“Niall? I don’t think so, why?”
“Oh… I’ll let him know you asked.”
“Oh my why?”
“Never mind, it was just… he was acting quite weird last night.”
“He was, it’s gonna be alright though.”
“Yeah sure. I’ll see you tonight?”
“Yeah see you there mate.”
I hung up and kept smoking rather confused. I was leaning against the counter and looking out the window. It all seemed so different here this time but I had I known what would come I’d have known why I thought it was different because it was different more different that I’d ever expect it to be.
