"Liv! Make sure you pack everything! We won't be making any returns once we're on the road." Mum shouted upstairs.
I attempted to shove everything I needed into my pink suitcase. My clothes, underwear, shoes, hair brushes, toothbrush, books, DVD's... everything in my bedroom. I can't live without my music so that was definitely going in there! Last but not least... my favourite teddy bear. Mr Snuggle Bum. I know... 16 years old and I still sleep with a teddy bear, but the thing is, he is the closest thing I have to a best friend. It sounds weird when I say that the only person I can truly trust and the only person to give my secrets to... is my teddy bear, but I'm not a popular kid, I never have been.
Honestly, I'm probably the only kid on the block with social issues. I find it extremely impossible to talk to a single human being I've never met before. I've always been anti-social and I lack a lot of confidence, which isn't going to help me, seeing as my sister and I have been transferred to a private school for girls. Wish me luck, because my life is about to take a turn for the worst. This is going to be hell.
I finished packing and zipped up my suitcase. Once it was off the bed, I used every ounce of strength in me to stand it up and drag it down the stairs. Eventually, after heaving it down thirteen steps, I managed to stand it at the bottom of the stairs. I paced into the kitchen to pack a few snacks for the journey there and searched for my mum. She seemed to become invisible when she was in a hurry, she didn't like to be disturbed.
"Mum!" I shouted as she jolted back from the book shelf.
"What is it Liv?" she asked, chucking a few books in her ruck sack.
"I've finished packing."
She continued to violently throw things in her bag. "Well put your bags in the car and sit with your sister. I'll be finished in a few minutes."
"Uh, okay." I groaned, realising I had to lunge my brimming suitcase into the car. "Okay suitcase, ready to move! Help me on this one." I said to myself, as I rubbed my hands together and dragged it out to the car.
"Want some help?" Amelia asked in a sarcastic tone.
"I assume you're standing there to watch me while I struggle?" I implied, lifting it up and chucking it in the car boot.
"You know me too well young girl." she referred to me as 'young girl' quite a lot. I guess she thought it was amusing.
I slammed the door shut and climbed into my side of the car. It was warm in the car, so I rolled down the window to let some air in. My hair tossed from side to side as I brought it over my right shoulder. I had long, blonde hair. Sometimes curly, sometimes straight... depends on the weather really... and the amount of effort I put into it. I switched on my I-Phone and decided to listen to my 'On The Road' playlist, which consisted of Fall Out Boy and Beyonce songs. I usually had my music pretty loud, therefore, my initial thought was that my sister would ignore me. I was wrong.
"Hey! Hey, so are you excited?" she asked, insisting me to remove headphones.
"I'm trying to listen to my music... and yes I'm thrilled we're moving to another city, where I can enjoy the pleasure of having no friends whatsoever." I replied with the least amount of enthusiasm.
"Deep. I'm excited to see some hot boys." I assume she hasn't acknowledged the fact that it's a private girls school.
"You do know that there won't be any boys there? It's an all girls school." I indicated.
"I know that silly! But the headteacher's bound to have a son!" she replied.
I decided to ignore her and put my earphones back in. My mum eventually got in the car and we set off for our new life... in Ohio.
