For What Lies Hidden

A collection of all my poetry in an order I think makes reading it even more fun and exciting.

153. Autumnal Beauty

Crunch through the leaves
Kick at the reds, golds and oranges
Watch them swirl upwards in the breeze
And travel far away.

Deer leap through the glade
As leaves tumble on top of them
Knocked free by careless gestures
Or the weather surrounding the garden.

Cold nips at the fingers
The trees shiver as leaves float away
Autumnal beauty disappears
As winter leaps and takes hold.

Snow squashes leaves to pulp
Covering all in shimmering innocence
Forgetting what was once present
And wiping the slate clean for a new year and a new story.
