I didn't know how long I stayed sitting still on the cold floor of this dark room, feeling like paralysed. Liam's words kept echoing in my mind and the more I was thinking about it, the less I was able to understand and to believe in what he had said. What was going to happen to me? Fear hadn't left me since that man had bumped into me but now were added to that feeling many questions I knew would stay answerless. Why had I, in the middle of the night, bumped into two of the most famous men? And why had they been about to murder someone in a dark street?
I felt shivers running over my body as I tried to imagine answers to those questions. No. Actually I didn't want to know the truth. There was something wrong but I knew I was way too frightened at the mere thought of what it could be. It might be worse than anything I could imagine so far.
I tried to calm myself, breathing slowly, and turned my head to look at the slim ray of light coming from under the door. But I soon heard footsteps and the sound of a key unlocking the door. The sudden amount of light coming into the room made me blink many times, as the tall figure moved closer.
I recognized the second man's voice as he snapped harshly, "Stand up." I didn't move, surprised by his tone. He knelt down and stared at me, his blue eyes glittering with hate. He was way scarier than Liam. I knew if there only was him last night to decide, I would be dead right now. He spoke again, his voice still harsh. "You're deaf or what?" And he grabbed my arms to pull me up, making me wince as he tightened it hard. Then, he started to walk away, still holding my arm. But I freed myself from his grip.
"Don't touch me!" I spat, sounding half disgusted half terrified. He turned around and stepped closer toward me. I pushed him away but I felt his gun against the palm of my hand, as it was hidden under his jacket. I froze, my heart started pounding faster and faster at the sight of the smirk slowly appearing on Louis' face.
He moved closer again but I didn't move this time. "I'm not like Liam. And be sure I won't comply with his order forever." I could feel his breath against my face as he threatened me. I swallowed and he kept on smirking before walking away toward the door.
"Follow me." I nodded slowly, knowing there was nothing else I could do. I made my way toward his and he started leading me along a narrow corridor. Though walls were plain white, the atmosphere remained lugubrious.
Soon, the corridor ends and we reached the kitchen where Liam already was sitting, a bunch of papers spread in front of him on the table. He quickly glanced toward the tow of us before putting the papers away. I looked at Louis, who was standing beside me, and noticed he was staring at Liam in a rather annoyed and angry way.
He muttered with a cold voice to Liam, "I knew you were lying. You planned something." Liam laughed, nodding. "You know me too well, Louis. But yes, I did. You're right." He stood up and walked toward me, the smile on his face beginning to look scary. I stepped backwards but I felt Louis' hand on my back, stopping me.
Liam kept on moving toward me and I felt like I would collapse soon, my legs starting to shake.
"It's time for you to start getting involved in our plans." I shook my head and he laughed. Then, he turned to Louis and asked him,
"Who do you want to start with?" I raised an eyebrow. What did that mean? Who were they talking about? And what do they want to get started?
Louis seemed to think for a short while before answering with a grim expression on his face,
"Harry." Liam nodded before turning his head to look back at me from top to toe.
"You first have to get a shower and to get changed otherwise it won't work," he mumbled. I opened my eyes widely. I needed to know what was going on here so I asked them quickly, "Who's Harry?"
It was Louis who answered me simply, "one of our old band mates." I didn't understand. What did that mean? Why were they talking about him?
"I still don't get it..."
Liam shrugged his shoulders and I heard Louis chuckling beside me.
"It's quite easy to understand though." I wasn't sure I wanted to hear the answer anymore, but he carried on, "all you will have to do is make him fall in love with you."
