I turned around, surprised, and found myself face to face with a familiar smiling face.
"Andrew!" I exclaimed happily and feeling relieved it was him.
"How are you? It has been ages!" He laughed, nodding.
"You should have called me to give me some news or at least a sign you still were alive," he teased me.
I shook my head innocently and replied, "I'm sorry! I've been pretty busy lately. You know with my job and all..." He smiled weakly.
"Don't worry, I understand you're busy. But that doesn't give you the right to ignore me for so long!" he pouted.
"I promise I'll send you something every day!" He smiled widely, seeming happy about that.
"What are you up to? You don't seem busy right now? Fancy a drink?" he suggested.
I was about to answer positively when I felt hands around my waist. I jumped abruptly but didn't scream.
"Here you are at last! I thought I would never find you, Scarlett!" I turned my face and saw another familiar face, though I wasn't glad to see him at all.
Right beside me, with his hands on my waist, was standing Liam. But he didn't look like earlier. There was something different with him. He was perfectly shaved and his hair seemed to be placed in a different way. He was also wearing glasses and his clothing styles had changed too. He wore light blue jeans with a light blue shirt and a brown leather jacket. Dressed like that, he looked like the ideal son-in-law although it was far from being the reality.
"I just found a place to park the car and now I've found you!" he lied, smiling widely before kissing me on the jaw. What was he playing at? And where did he come from?
Andrew stared at the both of us with an awkward expression on his face.
"Hi, I'm William," Liam introduced the fake himself, holding his hand out. Andrew shook it quickly before introducing himself as well,
"Hi, I'm Andrew. Nice to meet you."
A silence followed but Liam broke it a while afterwards after kissing me a second time on the cheek.
"Time to go, sweetheart. We have a busy afternoon ahead of us! We'll go! If you don't mind, Andrew." The latter nodded slightly, smiling.
"No problem! Have fun! See you later, Scarlett!" he exclaimed. I smiled at him before Liam took my hand in his to pull me away.
"What are you playing at?" I shouted at him while trying to take my hand off his. But I didn't manage to do so; he tightened it too hard.
"He is still not far from us so play along," he whispered in my ear.
I sighed loudly and held his hand until we turned in another street.
"Can I have some explanations now?" I spat while pushing him away from me.
He stopped and simply shrugged his shoulders. "We told you you would be watched. That's all I have to explain." He made a short pause before changing subject, "Who was that guy?"
"A friend of mine."
"Just a friend of yours?" he repeated and I nodded.
"My oldest friend. But he's more like a brother to me." It was his turn to nod.
"Right." He clapped his hands. "It's time to go back home!"
"What? No! You gave me two hours!"
He raised an eyebrow and grabbed my arm to pull me away.
"I gave you two hours but you were supposed to spend those alone and not going to speak with friends. It's over now."
"I didn't meet him on purpose! And I wouldn't have said anything!" He looked at me but didnt seem convinced by my words.
"You almost told everything to Harry yesterday. If we hadn't caught him, you probably wouldn't be here anymore," he said with a cold voice. I gasped quietly but didn't reply.
If Harry had gone away before they could catch him then Louis' threat would have become true? It meant that starting from now I would have to be more careful.
"How come no one recognises you out there? You are not that well disguised." He kept looking in front of him before answering a few seconds later.
"I guess I've changed a bit. But people have changed more than I did," he muttered.
"What do you mean?"
"It has been two years since the band stopped playing. It doesn't seem to be very long but it is fir music business. Even though the fans said they would always be here, there always comes a time when they have enough to wait fir something which shall never come." I glanced at him and saw he was almost looking sad. Did he regret his false disappearing?
"New singers and bands have been created so the fans just changed fandoms. But that's just the way it goes. Do you think you could remember who you were listening to two years ago if the band doesn't exist any more? I couldn't." He took a breath and carried on, "but even if someone recognises me or Louis one day, it wouldn't change anything. They would be called liars, that's all."
"Then, why did you fake your disappearing?" I asked him.
"We're home!" he ignored my question by yelling so as we walked up the stairs in front of the house.
He opened the door and we both walked in to find Louis waiting in the entrance hall.
"That was short." He smirked. "No need to ask you what happened then." Liam laughed while taking off his glasses.
"There's nothing funny," I snapped and he shrugged his shoulders.
"I'm sure you enjoyed it." He smiled cheekily.
"I absolutely didn't." And he laughed again.
"Ok. Let's talk about something more interesting," Louis told us and I rolled my eyes discreetly. I wanted to go back in my room; what did he want this time?
"I've great news! Paul just called me." But he didn't carry on straight away.
"And?" I shouted, annoyed. He smirked before carrying on, "he found a way for you to meet Niall. Your mission starts tomorrow."
