"What are you doing up here, Scarlett? I thought you were in London!" Andrew asked, yawning. I smiled weakly at him and he let me walk in.
I looked around at his flat, remembering how many times I had been there. We mostly were playing video games every time I was there but it was fun. But now that I had moved away, I saw Andrew less and less... And I was missing my best friend a lot.
"So what happened down there? It has something to do with your boyfriend, hasn't it?" he asked with concern as we were in the kitchen and he was looking for cups in a cupboard. "Tea?" I nodded and started making water boil.
"Scarlett, it has something to do with... what's his name already... with William?" he repeated, trying to remember the fake name Liam had told him when I had met him in London. I laughed slightly.
"You've been crying. Your eyes are all puffy." I looked down at my hands while sitting down on a chair. I heard him sigh but he didn't talk. He just cupped hot water in our cups and sat in front of me.
"Come on... you know you can tell me everything. What has he done to you? Just tell me where I can find him and he'll regret hurting you!" He winked, making me chuckle.
"It's complicated..." Andrew just laughed at me, "Every time you say so, it always appears to be the simplest thing ever!"
"I wish you were right for this time..." I muttered and he suddenly became serious.
"William isn't and was not my boyfriend." I looked up at him and saw him raising an eyebrow.
"He is not your boyfriend? Then you two seemed very close."
"He just pretended he was!" I shouted, feeling anger growing in me as I thought of that day. "I am not free anymore, Andrew."
He froze, holding his cup in front of him.
"Free? Scarlett, I don't understand anything. You arrive here in the middle of the night to tell me your boyfriend is not your boyfriend and that you are not free! What the hell is going on in your life?"
"If I tell you everything, would you believe me?" I whispered.
About an hour later and after many cups of tea, I finished telling him everything. Well...everything isn't the right word. I didn't tell him which band it was about nor their full names. He would probably not have believed me if I had told him they were the world's most famous boys band.
"You can't keep that to yourself! You have to do something! Go to the police station!" he shouted after a while.
I shook my head. "I can't. These guys disappeared two years ago and there is no proof they're still alive apart from me being an accomplice of their crime. They wouldn't believe me. And I can't go and tell them I'm involved in their plans either. It'd end badly for me as well." He simply nodded.
"All I have to do is look for the last man they want. And I have to find him before they do."
I sighed. Finding Zayn was my last chance to save at least his two friends. But how to find him was my biggest problem. I had no idea where he could be nor what he was looking like. If I saw him on the street, I wouldn't recognize him. I already have seen pictures of the band but they were rather old and I was sure he had changed those last two years.
"Andrew," I called him, "please, help me. I need you," I begged him in a whisper.
For a few seconds, he looked sad.
"I'm sorry, Scarlett, but I can't."
Staring wide eyed at him was all I could manage to do. He was my last hope. Everything was collapsing.
"Why?" I murmured, stunned.
"I promised I wouldn't help you."
