"Scarlett? What..." Harry asked me as I leaned against him, crying into his chest. "Scarlett, what's wrong?" He kept on repeating in vain. I wept harder and harder, unable to control myself.
I couldn't do it anymore. My strength had left me and all the fear I had felt those last few days has taken over me. I couldn't control my fear anymore. I couldn't do this though it was risked and I knew what would happen next.
I collapsed on the floor, my legs shaking and my sight blurred by the unstoppable flow of tears running down my face. Harry had tried to hold me back but he now was knelt down in front of me.
"Scarlett... What's wrong? Tell me," he whispered while I felt his hand on my cheek wiping a few tears away.
I sobbed loudly before finally managing to talk, "Harry... Don't stay... Please!" I tried to push him away but he didn't move an inch.
"I can't leave you here like that!" he replied.
I shook my head violently. Why was he so stubborn? He couldn't stay. He had to leave.
"Harry..." I blinked many times to try to see him more clearly through the tears.
"I...I hope you'll forgive me." He seemed taken aback and I saw his eyes widened as he spoke, "Why?"
I stood up quickly and grabbed his jacket to make him get up too.
"Harry, run! Now!" I shouted to him. But he didn't move.
"Harry! Leave! Now!" I yelled again in vain. But it was too late.
"You should have listened to her, Harry."
Louis' figure stopped behind Harry. The feeble light reflecting on his face made him look grimmer than ever. Harry slowly turned around, having surely recognized the voice.
"Louis?" he stuttered, shocked. He stepped closer toward him but suddenly Liam rushed toward Harry and stopped him. Where was he hidden?
"Don't. You don't know him anymore," his threatening voice echoed in the empty street. He then threw Harry toward Louis who grabbed his arms, preventing him from moving.
"But! Louis! Liam! I don't..." but Louis tightened his grip, making Harry wince.
"Louis!" I shouted angrily at him but he ignored me. He started walking away, pulling Harry with him toward the car. But he stopped short afterwards and without turning around, he spoke to me, "You almost betrayed us, Scarlett. Don't forget what I told you." And he kept on walking away.
"It's time to leave." Liam stepped toward me and grabbed my arm. I couldn't even fight him away; he was too strong.
"Don't hurt him, Liam!! Please!" I begged him, crying. "Don't kill Harry!" I collapsed on the ground but he kept on holding my arm.
"What you think doesn't matter, Scarlett," he muttered in a threatening voice, looking me in the eyes. "You did your part. Let us do ours."
Then, he dragged me into the car and I sat beside Harry, whose hands were tied up. Liam sat down beside me and Louis started off.
"I'm sorry, Harry."
