The next night was very similar, muffled voices and sound effects from the TV, later came the flick of a light switch followed by the loud bangs of William dragging his body up the stairs. Harry didn't know what I was about to do. I waited for the thuds to stop then I got a pen and some paper out of the bottom drawer in the kitchen. And on the paper I wrote something that would change mine and Harry's lives forever,"William, go into the kitchen and tell your old toy Gary that you read this note. He will take care of the rest." At least since I didn't tell William in the note that I was real, I still had the choice not to. I sneaked into the living room, being carefull not to wake Bea, who was sleeping deeply on the door mat in the corridor. I hesitated for a few moments before throwing the note into the air above the coffee table and watched it gradually drift onto the table. I was pleased that I put my plan into action but also anxious for the morning to come. This was the last night that I would have to be secretive, but also the last night that I could be secretive. Overall I was satisfied. That could all change tomorrow, I'll have to wait and see.
