For those of you mortals, is a year forever, for us who don't live, a year is a short time. I waited for three years. I chose to just be angel and I avoided even thinking that he would see me. The guys let out a 3D-movie and I was actually impressed by how far they had come in such a short time. I knew they would remain on top, but it was incredible to go with them on their trip.
It was a big party in one of London's greatest buildings. Everyone was there and Niall enjoyed. He was so happy that he could crack and I saw how he tried to get a grasp of what really happened. I stood in a corner and looked out over the room. Everyone was in great spirits and I saw how the whole One Direction was running around to catch talk to everyone. The movie had been greater than they had ever imagined and all the fans expected it to be released in their cinemas, close them.
Niall took a beer and I saw how happiness radiated from him. He came towards my direction and right as it was he was startled. I didn't notice that he saw me until he came up to me.
"Hello?" he got out himself and I saw his charming smile, like he always had when he wanted to get to know another person. I blushed and didn't know what to say. What do you say to a man? What do you say to the person that you love so much that your body hurts? Niall seemed to understand that I couldn't get a single word. He stood in front of me and tried to make eye contact.
"Why are you standing down here in the corner?"
I swallowed and was so nervous I was shaking.
"I don't want to be in the way."
Niall smiled and he let me not go with his eyes. It felt like a dream and I really didn't believe that he saw me. It was as if it just happened and I was just as surprised as he was.
"So what's your name?"
I realized I didn't remember my name. No one had told me my name and my old name was long since gone. I dropped the words again, causing Niall to just be more amused.
"I'm Niall." he whispered almost certain. "So you don't know what your name is?"
I wanted to say a name. I saw a girl with a name tag and I saw that her name was Hope. I directly looked at Niall again.
"My name is Hope!"
I'd seen Niall when he flirted with girls, but he didn't follow the pattern this time. He stood close to me and it was like he was captivated by me. He neither leaned against me or trying to be funny. Niall just stared at me and he smiled so so wonderful, as only he could smile.
"So Hope, you want to join me, then you will not have to stand here alone in the corner, because the party's over there." he pointed to the room. "And it would be fun if you were with me tonight, just as company."
I nodded weakly and chose to be brave. Niall took his arm around my waist and steered me toward all the others. My legs were shaking and it wasn't only due to that Niall was so close to me. It was because everyone saw me, they all smiled at me and I realized I had missed a lot as an angel. It felt great to be among people and they looked at me like I was a human. It was a tingling sensation in my stomach and I hadn't felt so alive in a long time. I talked to Nialls friends and I tried to act like them. I smiled, replied, listening and slid around the floor. Was this how it felt to be truly human? In that case, I wanted to be reborn on earth and live. I realized that there had been more fun than living forever like an angel.
"You're beautiful!" Niall suddenly whispered in my ear. I blushed and had no idea if I would say something. He almost seemed to like that I didn't behave like any other girl and he stopped me.
"I'm not trying to seduce you." he continued. "But I have to admit that I'm taken by you. Where have you been all my life?"
I wanted to respond: Behind you, but knew he couldn't understand that part.
"Everywhere ..." I replied, and avoided looking into his eyes. Niall was still holding his arm around my waist and he didn't want to let me go.
"I'm glad I found you."
The evening was wonderful and when the party was nearing the end, I realized I was hooked. I wanted to be seen and I wanted to stand and talk to everyone. Niall pulled me into a corner and gave me a business card.
"Please call me a day, a night or whenever you want."
I was surprised and looked up at him.
"You usually don't give the girls your business card?"
Thank God he didn't understand that I said those words. I realized that I should have chosen to just thank him, but I was surprised.
"You're one of the few." he said and I knew he was telling the truth. "I don't want to lose you, but I understand if you are reversing. I'm not used to feeling like this for a girl the first time I see her."
When Niall came home, he thought only about me. I kept myself at a distance, and I felt fragmented. I wanted him to see me again, but knew he would think I was a stalker if I just showed up on his floor. Instead, I sat down in his couch and listened to his thoughts.
"Hope? Talking about a wonderful name." he thought. "I have to see her again and I will not let her go."
I had to go out for a walk that night. I felt so happy that he seemed to have feelings for me, but at the same time not. Who did I thought I was? An angel who seduced man or an angel who protected him?
Martin showed up and immediately I stopped him.
"What do I do now? He fell for me and I can't handle it ..."
He smiled reassuring to me.
"So he liked you? Told you he will see you and you will understand why I warned you."
"But I want to be with him, but I know it's wrong ..."
Martin took his hands over my shoulders and smiled reassuring.
"Take a deep breath and calm down." he whispered. "I have flirted with thousands of girls and after a while you learn the trick. You let him be with you a few times and then you can say that you have to move, take a trip or perhaps dying?"
"So I'll come up with a silly excuse and just brake up?"
Martin was amused.
"Well, it's up to you."
