2. My third life
I have been taught, that angel, that we don't feel love in the same way as you people. We have feelings and we can cry, but we can't feel it deep connections to another person. It's wrong and I proved it.
I saw him standing in a corner and he was so nervous and dejected. I went up to him and put my hand on his shoulder.
"Please don't send me home!" spun around in his head. I knew he wanted to remain in the competition. I felt his emotions, which just went around him. I felt his legs were shaking and I felt how he almost gave up. I tried to calm him down and I smiled at him.
"It'll be okay!"
Yet he seemed not to feel my concerning. He began biting on his nails and his eyes flickered around at everyone else.
"Wonder I instead would have chosen a different song? Maybe I chose the wrong song, and now I get to go home because of it?"
"It will be okay!" I whispered back and looked at him. He had the bluest eyes I had seen and I just loved his face. His hair was bleached and he was so boyish. I felt all the love he held within him and I felt he was a caring guy. Such a guy who won at being himself. I also knew that his fate this day would change. He wouldn't stay in the competition in the way he thought. He would end up in a group with like-minded guys and they would made something big together. This guy would make history and he would leave footprints that would never disappear from the earth.
If you're wondering how angels work, we have those who are above us in the pecking order. I had Gabriel as a manager and he was a good leader. Many people had heard of him and he was considered one of the foremost.
"I want to be his guardian angel!" I said firmly and walked over to Gabriel. "Please give me the assignment. I have never asked for anything, and now I do."
He frowned and looked at me with a puzzled look.
"What's your reason?"
I swallowed and didn't know what to say. The truth was that I only known that it was right.
Gabriel realized that this meant something to me and he saw at me that I really wanted.
"On two conditions!"
"The fact that you go back to your old work that day he dies." He smiled weakly. "And you come to my undercutting when I need you?"
"It doesn't mean that I'm free from my old job?"
He laughed a little bit.
"Well, in a sense, you are."
I sighed and realized that this was my only chance.
"Okay, if you'll give me a contract to be his guardian angel!"
"You can take care of him, but don't forget that you are his guardian angel. You're not his partner and he doesn't see you. Let him be without you sometimes."
