12. Chapter Twelve

After Jack had left, Elsa began to truly feel sick.

She didn't know how she felt or what she wanted anymore.

Her life had began to morph into a tangled mess of endings and beginnings, but nothing lined up.

She needed some time alone to figure out what she was going to make of this.

In all honesty, she didn't think of Jack as a love interest.

He'd said it himself, they'd only properly just met.

But every time she got in front of those amazing blue eyes...

Elsa tossed these thoughts away.

She very well knew she was diving in too deep too fast.

The last thing she wanted to do was ruin what could have been a great friendship with Jack by falling for his looks.

If she was going to love him, it would have to be for who he was, not because he had powers like her or that he was gorgeous.

Elsa decided it did nothing for her to try and deny these thoughts every time they arose, so she accepted within herself that she absolutely thought Jack was gorgeous.

There was no way around it, he was definitely fine.

If she could get to know him better, maybe there was a possibility for love.

However, she may have just taken that possibility and crushed it beneath her boot with the way she had just acted.

There was no telling if Jack would come back or not.

And if he did, this relationship wouldn't be easy.

Nobody could see him but her.

Millions of thoughts were swirling in her mind and it was all too much.

This was when she picked up the paper and quill.

❄Dear Jack Frost, I'm sorry I'm such a stubborn queen. I wish I could tell you how I feel, but the truth is, I don't know. I've got so much I'm thinking about, and I want to tell you all of it. So here it goes...even though we've had two arguments in less than 24 hours, I enjoy your personality. I love knowing somebody who has my power. I'm not afraid when I'm with you because I know the cold doesn't bother you either. I know I've been a little snappy, but I guess you could say I haven't really developed the best of people skills, having locked myself up in my room alone for years. At least, I thought I was alone. Speaking of which, I want to thank you for being with me all this time. It really did help, in case you were wondering. So I don't know if I've blown it with how I've acted this last day, but if not, I'd like a second chance to get to know you. I think we could really get along if we set our differences aside. We have more in common than we think, and not just power. If you'd rather not.. Well, I understand. I'm not the easiest to deal with and I don't want you to feel obligated to stay. I'll miss you.. but I'll be fine. Sincerely, Queen Elsa❄

With all of this written down and out of her mind, Elsa drifted off into a deep sleep...

The next morning when she awoke, the paper and quill lay on the pillow next to her.

❄Dear Queen Elsa, the fault is not entirely your own. I've been quick to anger because truthfully, I'm still getting over how excited I am that you can see me now. I want everything to be perfect, but, understandably, it won't be. But i'm willing to try because I think the two of us could have a strong friendship, since we understand things about each other than no one else on this earth does. So if you can put up with me, I'll always come back. Sincerely, Jack Frost ❄

Elsa's eyes started to water as she looked up to see Jack standing at the foot of the bed, leaning against his staff with a broad smile on his face.

"Thank you." She said quietly as she leap up to hug him.

He hugged her back tightly.

"You're welcome." He whispered in return.

Just then, they heard foot steps down the hallway and Jack put a finger to his lips, telling her to stay quiet.

Then he picked up he piece of paper and wrote: "Elsa, why don't we just write? No one can hear us, and we can continue to get to know each other."

He passed the paper to Elsa and smiled.

He watched her blue eyes scam from left to right as she read what he had written.

Then she, too, wrote a message in her dainty, curly handwriting.

"Jack, a brilliant idea. So where shall I start... What's your favourite colour?" She passed him the paper and he smiled and began to write.
