3. Chapter 3

Lexi's POV

"Mom! I want to hurry...", I say, as mom drags me into Starbucks.

"We still have 15 minutes Lexi, and the bowling alley is right there... I just need a coffee. I promise I'll be quick." There aren't very many people in the shop. While my mom goes up to the counter I look around and that's when I see them. I know it's them even with their hats and suglasses on. A true directioner always knows. I tug at mom's jacket. "Just a second Lexi. Coffee, coffee, coffee...please," mom says, smiling to the girl behind the counter.

"Three coffee's?", the girl behind the counter asks.

Mom chuckles and shakes her head no. Oh god here we go. "I said, coffee, coffee, coffee...as in I REALLY need a coffee, coffee, coffee, get it?"

"No, not really", she says dryly.

"Mom!"

"Just a second Lexi... It's a saying or an exaggeration. A funny, desperate cry for caffeine... It's a 'bit', my 'bit' because I love coffee." Everyone is staring and listening to my mom go on and on about coffee. Could this be anymore embarrassing?! "Nevermind, can I have an extra large, with 2 milk and 2 sugar..." Thank goodness, she's letting it go.

"Sorry, we only have decaf right now..."

"Seriously?! And you think that's SAFE!?" mom snaps.

"Mom! Just take the decaf!"

"I don't want decaf...It's not a decaf afternoon...It's a JUMBO caffeine coffee afternoon Lexi... It's an 'I need it in an IV kind of afternoon'! If I don't get the right coffee then I stop doing the standing...and the walking...and the words putting into sentence doing!"

"Erm, excuse me..."

oh god, oh god, oh god, "Mom, mom, mom!"

"Just a second Lexi... Yes?"

"I couldn't help but over hear your coffee catastrophe. Here, XL Black. I never even took a drink from it yet. Just add your cream and sugar", the stranger offers, but it isn't a stranger.

"Mom, mom, mom, mom, mom!!!!"

"Sshh Lexi. Just a sec! Decaf?" she asks, scrunching her nose. How can someone have such an unhealthy obession with coffee!

"No, fully caffeinated. My friends and I must of gotten the last of the pot..."

"Here, I'll buy it from you..."

"No, please. You enjoy it..." He glances down at me as mom adds her sugar and cream to the cup. He puts his finger up to his lips and winks. My mom turns around and takes a huge gulp with her eyes closed, really taking the time to enjoy it, before opening her eyes again.

"Mmm, thank you. I think you just saved the girl behind the counter..." she whispers and giggles. I palm slap my forehead. My mom. So weird. "Let's go Lex...We don't want to be late..." I glance behind me a give a small wave back at the 5 people at the table. They all smile and wave back.

Oh my god, my mom is drinking Harry Styles's coffee!

Harry's POV

"We still have a few minutes lads... Let's go into Starbucks and grab some drinks...", I suggest.

We place our order and grab a table in the very back corner. It's not very busy, maybe because it's afternoon and everyone is still working. The lads and I still have our caps and shades on, just in case. As we sit around the table chatting the door opens and a girl walks in holding a little girl's hand. Louis give my arm a nudge and I turn around to have a look. She's really pretty. Tall and slim, shoulder length brown hair and brown eyes. All of us are watching out of the corners of our eyes. I elbow Louis in the ribs and he groans, before rubbing them with his hand. "Stop looking at her, you have girlfriends already..."

"We can look at the menu, we just can't order!", Zayn snaps. The little girl keeps staring at us. I can tell by the smile on her face that our disguises haven't fooled her at all. We're all quiet as she starts talking.

Coffee, coffee, coffee...please", she says, smiling to the girl behind the counter.

"Three coffee's?", the girl behind the counter asks.

She giggles and shakes her head no.

"I said, coffee, coffee, coffee...as in... I REALLY need a coffee, coffee, coffee, get it?"

"No, not really", the girl behind the counter answers dryly.

"Mom!"

"Just a second Lexi... It's a saying or an exaggeration. A funny, desperate cry for caffeine... It's a 'bit', my 'bit' because I love coffee. Nevermind, can I have an extra large, with 2 milk and 2 sugar..."

"Sorry, we only have decaf right now..."

"Seriously?! And you think that's SAFE!?" she snaps, and the lads and I do our best to stifle our laughter.

"Mom! Just take the decaf!"

"I don't want decaf...It's not a decaf afternoon...It's a JUMBO caffeine coffee afternoon... It's an 'I need it in an IV kind of afternoon'! If I don't get the right coffee then I-I stop doing...the standing...and the walking...and the words putting into sentence doing!"

I need to rescue this poor caffeine deprived beautiful girl. I stand and make my way over to her. "Erm, excuse me..."

"Mom, mom, mom!"

"Just a second Lexi..."

"Yes?", she says, turning to face me. Her lips are so pink and her eyes twinkle. I give my head a shake.

"I couldn't help but over hear your coffee catastrophe. Here, XL Black. I never even took a drink from it yet. Just add your cream and sugar", I offer.

"Mom, mom, mom, mom, mom!!!!"

"Sshh Lexi. Just a sec! Decaf?" she asks, scrunching her nose. Oh gosh, that was the cutest thing I think I've ever seen.

"No, fully caffeinated. My friends and I must of gotten the last of the pot..."

"Here, I'll buy it from you..."

"No, please. You enjoy it..."

As she turns to add sugar and cream to the cup. I gaze down at the pretty little girl with fiery red hair and green eyes. I put my finger up to my lips and wink at her.

"Mmm, thank you. I think you just saved the girl behind the counter..." she whispers and giggles. "Let's go Lex...We don't want to be late...", she says, taking the little girl by the hand and leading her out the door. I glance up to see the little girl give a small wave back at our table. We all smile and wave back.

"That's them mates...", I say, heading back to our table.

"Who?", Liam asks, grinning.

"Our contest winners... The ones we heard on the radio this morning", I reply.

"You ok Harry?", Louis asks.

"No, I think I'm in love...", I whisper to myself. God, I'm such a cliche.
