9. Harvey-Chapter Eight.
Twice in one day. Twice in one day, but now, now, it was in my own home. How did she find my address? My boss? My older sister? I thought the latter wasn't the one, as my sister never mentioned a human child-a teenage girl-in her line of work. But my boss? Surely he wouldn't-oh. Gwen must have phoned him up. Exactly like she said she would. Now that means that I was going to get my ear chewed out by my colleagues as well as my boss. Crap.
'Look, I'm-I'm sorry about-earlier. Not many people know what-what I do so soon. I didn't even tell my friend Wynn until a few weeks ago. So...Please don't tell anyone will you?' Gwen said, looking up at me worriedly.
'No, it's fine...I just freaked out, I guess. I swear I won't tell anyone else. Trust me.' I sat down on one of the oak chairs. Wynn...Where had I heard that name before? I thought, knowing it would be niggling away at me for ages until I remembered.
"Um...You...Good? You look a little like a constipated moose!" Gwen grinned at me, and then it clicked. Wynn Frittle, the all rounded 'good' guy.
"Is that...Wynn Frittle by any chance?" I asked, not expecting the look of surprise on Gwen's face.
"Ah! So you've heard of him then? Reputation killer, huh? He's alright once you get to know him-ok, ok maybe that's overselling him a bit!" She started to laugh. "Wynn...He has his ups and downs, but overall? Frittle is a good friend to have."
"Seriously? A good friend? That guy beats people up over the simplest things." Gwen leaned back on the chair she was sitting on.
"Want to know how we became friends?" I shrugged. Of course I wanted to know how a brute like Wynn was friends with a girl like Gwen.
