7. And it begins
Faith sat in a chair in the family room; Dylan and Stimson? had thought it best to take her way from anywhere with windows or anywhere where she could be harmed.
Dylan walked through the doors of the room and sat in front of her.
"Are you ok?" He asked.
"No..." for once she told the truth. "I've not been ok for a long time. I just want this all to be over, Dylan. I want...I want to just live. no more war. No more blood shed." She blinked and a tear ran down her cheek. "But I know. That's something I can never have. I can't have a normal job, I can't have a family, I can't..."
Dylan put his hand to her cheek looking at her in the eye "Look at me sweetheart." he wiped the tears away. "I am going to fight with you, then I'm going to help you."
"You don't know me."
"But I trust you." he said. "You've seen and lost too much. I know how I felt when my friend was killed whilst trying to apprehend a gun man. You see that everyday." he looked down before holding her squeezing it gently. "When this is over, I'm going to help you. Maybe we can find you're real family..."
"Your birth family." He suggested. "They took a child, she had family somewhere." He paused moving his hand to under her chin so she looked up at him. "I'm not leaving you Faith."
"Why?" She asked confused at why he was doing all this for her.
"You deserve more Lt. Summers." He gazed into her eyes before he leant forward gently pressing his lips against hers. For a few seconds they both forgot all about the war, they just stayed in this moment not wanting to break it. He hadn't known her long, but he knew from the moment he saw her...he would love her.
All these years she'd spent in imprisonment. She trusted him. She'd spent all her life not getting close to anyone knowing they were probably going to die but now... what had she done? How did this happen? She let herself fall...
Suddenly Stimson burst through the door "Put her down Anderson." he said and the two broke apart. "Faith, they've just sent a message, Somber Field."
"That's the location..." she blinked "it begins."
