13. 4.vi – Midnight’s Conclusion
And so Sir Shagor forsook his Liege and his country. Travelling steadily through Europe, he earned money by selling secrets to other kingdoms, and became an open fugitive. As his journey progressed, he hired men to join him in a campaign of pure anarchy. Gaining in immense wealth, he bought a large plot of land – Normandy – and set up his home, hiring servants and maids to look after his wife, son and, later, his daughter whom he named Nancy after his wife.
In Normandy, having gained as many as five hundred companions, he set up a barracks and stood for hire.
He became a mercenary – his slogan being:
“No enemies. No allies. A single loyalty.”
