The sun shone brightly through the castle windows. It was a sunny day and children were already outside playing.
Eric was already up and out of bed. He was going riding with some friends from other kingdoms and had left. Elsa was putting her dress on and doing her hair as she heard a knock on the door.
"You may come in!" She called from her dressing table. In walked Dylan and Eleanor. "Oh its you two." She smiled.
"Oh El!, your hair looks lovely, who did it?" Eleanor twirled showing off her braid. "Anna" she replied. "Did you say thank-you?" Elsa grinned. "Uh" Eleanor shuffled her feet. She ran off to her aunts room to thank her.
"Uh.. Mum" Dylan started awkwardly. Elsa looked up at him anxiously. "Dylan?" She said. "Mom I'm fine it was just a scratch, really,"
She pulled him close as hugged him. "Dylan, whatever he does, please don't retaliate. You have powers, he doesn't"
Dylan looked down. "I would never hurt him, he's my brother." Although Dylan knew that his brother had hurt him.
Elsa smiled at Dylan. "Mom can I go to a friends house" Elsas eyes widened.
she didn't want him to go out. Especially without her.. He could hurt someone. "You know better.." She muttered.
"what?" Dylan asked. Elsa looked up at him. "I mean, yes you can. Just be careful ok?" Dylan hugged his mother and ran out into the hall to put on his boots.
Dylan opened the latch on the wooden gate and walked up to the little cottage. Taking a deep breath he knocked on the door.
"the prince?" Gasped the woman who had just opened the door. Dylan started "Please call me-" "Dylan!" Gasped a voice and Elise ran into view. Her long golden hair was tied back in a plait and she was wearing a purple dress.
Elise whispered something to her mother, kissed her cheek and grabbed Dylan's hand.
They ran through the Arendelle forests, laughing and tripping over twigs and branches. "Where are we going?" Shouted Dylan.
"You'll see" grinned Elise, her green eyes were sparkling.
they came out onto a hill overlooking the market, the fjord In the background. "Woah" Dylan knew there was a market but he didn't leave the castle much.
Dylan let the wind rush through his hair. He felt free. He was with a proper friend. He threw his hands up in the air, as he did his shirt rose revealing his bruised stomach. Elise gasped. He noticed and pulled his shirt down. "Who did that to you?" She asked. "My brother." He replied glumly. "Who?" Elise questioned. "Prince Danny" he mumbled. "Oh him.." She said.
"come on let's go down to the market." They followed a path down the hill into the busy square.
Dylan bought a bread roll for Elise and himself and they decided to sit on a dock at the fjord.
Danny pounded his fists on the table in his room. "Stupid Ice powers, I wish I had them... Then I would be noticed" he muttered under his breath. He walked across to his window looking out across the fjord. He narrowed his eyes. Was that Elise? With Danny?! He clenched his fists. "Screw this" he whispered unlatching the window. A gust of wind knocked him backwards. He stood himself up and put his foot out of the window. It wasn't steep. He'd be fine.
Elise laughed. Dylan thought she looked stunning. Her hair was flying in the wind and her eyes shone in the sunlight. They sat side by side dangling their feet in the fjord.
"Your family is lovely." She sighed. "You're lovely.." Dylan mumbled. "I-I think you're.. Perfect.." Elise smiled. Dylan leant forward as did Elise, they shut their eyes and their lips drew nearer.
Dylan fell into the fjord. "Elise!" He yelled laughing. "That wasn't me Dylan.." She stammered.
Dylan looked up to see who had pushed him. He saw the figure of his brother looming above him, smirking.
Dylan pulled himself out of the fjord onto the dock, Elise helping him up.
"Don't touch him Elise, he's a freak!" Shouted Danny. Elise looked confused. She knew Dylan had powers. "Hey, he's exactly the same as you!" She retorted looping her arm through Dylan's.
Danny felt the anger rising up inside of him. "You.. You have ruined my life!" He yelled pointing at Dylan. "No Danny you've ruined your own life." Replied Dylan scowling. "You get all of the attention! If we were the same why am I not noticed by anyone!?" Shouted Danny. His face was turning red. "Danny, if you feel this way-" Dylan was stopped by a slash on the cheek from his brother. He put his hand up to it feeling blood. Danny continued slashing his brother, scratching him yelling insults. "Maybe people only like you so you don't hurt them!" Yelled Danny. "You can't talk for me Danny, you have problems of your own!" Dylan shoved his brother into the fjord. "Freak!" Yelled his brother. Dylan suddenly felt alone, different.
Danny struggled to surface and fell under the water. Dylan clenched his fists, unaware he was freezing the top of the fjord. I'm not a monster... He thought. I'm not a freak.
"Dylan!" Elise yelled watching Danny bang the frozen surface of the fjord with his hands. "Dylan! You're drowning him!"
Dylan fell to the ground, his eyes fluttering. The ice quickly disappeared and Danny smashed through the surface of the water gasping. Elise looked between them in between sobs. She grabbed a person who was one of many who had gathered around to watch. "Please.." She whispered. "Go and get the Queen"
Elsa rushed down the castle steps, Anna, Eric and Kristoff close behind. She covered her mouth as she saw her sons. She looked at Elise who was sobbing. "It's ok.. Kristoff please take this girl safely home.." Kristoff nodded and took Elise back up the forest path. "Eric.." She took a deep breath. "Tell the guards to close the gates" Anna grabbed her arm. "Elsa no! Please! Don't make them live like we did!" Elsa pushed Away her sister. "Anna, it's what's best for them.. " Eric ran up towards the castle and Anna and Elsa took Dylan and Danny after him.
"Elsa you don't have to do this.. You can't make this happen!" Elsa shut her eyes and fought back tears. "Queens orders." She said and strode out of the room leaving Anna alone.
