I got into my car and put mybook bag on the passenger seat and I turned on the car. I then started to drive to Maddie's middle school. When I got there, I saw a lot of kids running out to the streets to catch the bus or to catch up with friends who where walking home. I slowly dove to a parking spot and when I saw Middie by herself waiting at the font of the school. I honk the car making Maddie turn. She recognizes my car as slowly made her way toward my dark gray Honda. As she walks she has her head down with hair covering the said of her face. She looks up and her hair moves over to her shoulders like nothing. She opened the door to the passenger seat and put her backpack on the cars floor and puts her seat belt. It was now quiet. I looked over to her with sympathy.
"Everything okay, Maddie," I asked worried. I watch her look up from her lap and revealed a little bruise on her cheek bone, she looked at me with scared eyes of wanting to cry, but she hold it in. "Maddie! What happened?" I softly yelled at her putting my fingers on her chin softly and moving her chin to the right to see her bruised cheek better.
"Nothing," She shrugged and looked at the car window next to her.
"Nothing?" I asked, "Really? Nothing?" I said and relaxed my shoulders and we both sat there quietly, waiting for her to explain.
"Can we talk about this later?" She spoke up. I gave her a long worried sigh and put in my keys and started the car. We then drove home quietly. When we got to my small apartment I put down my book bag on the couch followed by Maddie who just sat next to me on the right side of the couch with her head down.
"Are you going to tell me what happened?" I spoke up making Maddie slowly look up from her lap. Her eyes were full of fear like if I was going to yell at her or something. "Maddie, you can tell me anything. I wont yell at you if that what you are scared of." I assured putting my soft slightly big hand on top of her small wrapped up hands.
"I got pushed into a locker while I was getting out of gym class." Maddie said as she played with her fingers while she sniff softly, looking down at her lap.
"Why? Why would they do that to you?" I asked her from the top of my head. I turn my whole body towards her while folding my left leg and sitting on it forming a upside down number four and my leg hanging off of the couch.
"I don't know! I guess I was easy to pick on." Maddie yelled out of frustration.
"Who is picking on who?" Ashton came out from the small hall way. Probably from my room.
"Some girl is bullying on poor Maddie." I was making her sound like she was a little kid at the age if ten.
"It's not a big deal, Kell!" Maddie called.
"Who was being bullied?" Michael popped out.
"Maddie." I simply said.
"Don't worry Maddie, will be your bodyguard." Calum sat next to her on the right and rubbed her back. Maddie didn't say anything.
"We care about you." Ashton said to Maddie as he pushed me aside from the side to sit next to Maddie.
"Shut up, Ashton!" I laughed.
"No you shut up! You brat!" Ashton faced me and laughed.
"I'm a brat?" I giggled. I made my fist clutch and tight like if I was going to hit Ashton. Ashton put his arm over himself for protection. "I'm not a brat! Your are! You don't have to pay two hundred for one fucking book." I put my hands on my hips.
"Hey!" Michael pointed at me "You told us not to cuss but you can?" Michael said as he sounded chucked about it.
"Well it is my house." I said while getting up from the couch. All if them got up as well but not Maddie.
"Correction, it's a apartment not a house." Luke told like if he was the smartest here.
"Yea! You said not to cuss in front of Maddie but you did! That's not fair." Calum added as he point at me as he got closer to me. I stood there biting my lip to hold the laugher.
"Fuck you all for ganging up on me!" I pointed at all of them. Right then we both burst out laughing. Even Maddie. We had so much fun that night. I began to get closer to my brother like how we used to be when we where younger.
