25. To hide
"I know you're there, come out and show yourself."
Nialls voice sounded amused. I heard how he pulled away the body of the man and that he was looking in the trailer on the truck. I didn't know what I would do. I realized that he didn't see me and gently, I sat up. I took the blanket around my body and lifted gently on the head, so I could peek out. I just saw the barn and Nialls car. He was still in the trailer and was looking for me. I heard how he overturned cardboard boxes and throwing things around him.
"Come on darling and come forward."
I went to the door and gently I opened it. I sneaked down on the grass and looked around the trailer. Niall was still in there and looked. I crept towards the forest and chose to take it who was lying closest. I reached the bushes before he saw me and I hid behind them. I heard that he continued to poke and he seemed almost angry that he didn't find me.
Niall walked around the truck and up to the driver's door. I gasped out that I had chosen to hide myself and saw how he went into it. He saw the place where I had been hiding, and he seemed almost angry that I wasn't there. Yet, I knew there was no proof that I had been lying in there. It would be if it smelled me, but the only thing I smelled was my sweat and none of my own fragrances.
Niall had to give up. He picked up the gun from the ground and picked up the phone. I heard him mumbling in it, and then his face lit up.
"So you haven't gotten in a lost girl to the police station?"
I knew he knew I hadn't got help. He started looking around the forest and he had a goofy smile on his face. I couldn't do anything, because he would see me if I chose to get out from the hiding place.
"Yeah it was great!" I heard him say. "Then I know where to look."
