"I'm excited to see mommy!" Andie said excitedly from the backseat.
"That's good, but do you remember what I told you??" I asked looking at her in the mirror.
"Of course! You said Mommy's going to look really different and I have to be very careful with her" she said playing with the teddy bear we got her on the way.
"Good, you better be a good girl too" I said hoping she wouldn't do anything stupid.
"Yes, now are we there yet??" She asked annoyed.
"No, soon" I said then a silence filled the car. "We're here!" I cheered sadly.
"Finally" she said exasperated, unbuckling herself and getting out of the car.
"Let's go" I said grabbing her hand and making our was to Samantha's room.
"Come in" we heard her call quietly from inside the room as we knocked.
"Mommy!" Andie yelled running into the room.
"Baby girl!" She cheered back, helping andie climb onto her bed while I sat on a chair by her bed.
"Hi" I said awkwardly. "Andie, why don't you tell mommy why we're here??" I asked but kind of told her.
"Daddy said you are very sick and your going to go to heaven, but I got upset and ran away so we didn't finish it" she mumbled cuddling into her.
"Do you want to finish talking about it??" Sam asked her.
"Yeah, will I be able to see you??" She asked sadly.
"Yes but not in person, you won't be able to see me, touch me or hear me" she tried to explain.
"Can you hear me??" She asked quietly.
"Of course I'll always be with you, in your heart and watching over you" she smiled.
"Okay, I love you" she said hugging her lightly.
"I love you too" Sam said with her face buried in andies hair.
"Well I'm going for a walk, just leave you to alone for a bit" I sighed, thinking about all the times she said she loved me, before I stupidly broke her heart. I just numbly walked up and down the hallway before I settled in a chair in the hall.
"Niall! Your back" I heard a voice call.
"Huh what" I said snapping my head up to see Samantha's doctor. "Oh sorry, hey" I smiled standing up to shake his hand.
"How are you" he asked sitting down, with me following suit.
"Good, just brought Andrea to visit her mom" I said pointing to the room.
"That's good, I assume you talked to her about her mom" he stated looking at me.
"Yeah, there was some issues though" I said, rubbing the back of my neck.
"I can imagine, it's going to be hard for her if she does die" he said sympathetically.
"Yeah I don't know what I'm going to do, her mom is all she knew her whole life and then poof she'll be gone" I sighed.
"Well I can always help, I can refer you to all kinds of things" he said helpfully.
"Thanks, I'll be sure to see you if I need it" I smiled as he walked away and into his office. "Andie, we gotta go" I said as I walked into the room, checking the time.
"But I don't want to" she whined.
"Andie please, we can come back" I said taking a deep breathe.
"I want to stay" she demanded.
"Andie I don't want to do this right now" I sighed.
"Andrea, please listen to your dad" she whispered stroking her hair lightly.
"Okay, bye mommy I love you" she said kissing her and climbing off the bed.
"Thank you, bye Sam" I smiled and waved picking andie up and walking to the car. "We can go get some food then go home okay??" I asked as I buckled her in.
"Okay" she sighed.
