That is, true, that was what we were thought in our history and geography class Making me whine again.
"Going back to my point, why can't I just be mated to you?" I groaned.
Serenity top saying that. He said. My wolf can only take so much of your powers you know.
"Oh." I blushed, "sorry."
Since I had turned sixteen, I was told I needed to be careful of my words. It had been a century since there had been a princes among the royal family. I am not only the princess, I am the Daughter of the Moon, the shifter who represents our deity, the moon. My words were wise and was meant to be followed, literally.
But right now I was just sounding like a brat and whining
"I mean it though." I said. "Things would be easier."
For you. He said, your brother will be all I- knew-it on us and would rant on about the times we would go camping alone or our sleep overs. Not easy at all for me, princess.
"Fine, be like that." I stomped ahead of him, acting like I was angry. But I can never be angry with Liam, Much like with Siam, no matter how idiotic they can be sometimes. "Give me away, good riddance that you don't have to protect me always."
Serenity don't be like that. He said, running after me, I felt his nose nudging me hand. But I moved it away. Sissy, c'mon...you know I can't stand it when you're mad at me.
"Well, whose fault is that?" I snapped.
Right now? I'm blaming the fates, so you can't blame all this on me.
That was true, it was the fates or the mother moon who decides who our mates are. So Liam was indeed not to blame on this.
Sissy... He whined again.
"Ok, ok...I'm not mad at you." I said, "I guess I'm just pressured."
"Yeah, I mean this the eleventh guy this month alone." I frowned, then I turned to Liam, nervous. "What if I have no mate? What if he was killed by the hunters? What if-"
What if he's the one waiting inside? He asked. I know it must be hard to be on your situation serenity, but like I said, this is for your safety and your future
I stared at him, letting everything he said sink in.
Just a little more patience, you can't hurry love after all.
I gave him a look, amused. "You know what, I think you will do such a great job as me, the daughter of the moon." I teased. I caught him roll his eyes back and continued to follow my brother.
I grinned and walked with him. It was hard for Liam growing up to have me at his side, he needed to listen and understand things I couldn't. So, in a way, he grew to be wise with me, as if the moon chose him to be an exception among the male species to understand the craziness of our world.
"That's a compliment." I teased again.
Whatever. He said. I think I feel bad for your mate to be now, dealing with your tantrums and mod swings.
I gave him a light nudge that I knew didn't hurt him at all but he game a pained sound making me laugh.
"Cry baby." I teased. Then he nudge me with his head making me move aside.
We finally reached the kingdom and saw merchants and guests coming in and out of the gates where the others were waiting.
Hurry up you two! Siam called, we can't be late for the banquet tonight, and with the looks of you Serenity, you'd be in a lot of trouble with mother once she sees you.
I groaned again and slapped my hand on my forehead.
The other chuckled as we walked though the city. We padded by the people and wolves around us would bow to give respect, to Siam in particular.
It was easy to detect a royal blood in their wolf form. Our furs are pure white or sometimes silver. Siam inherited my father's pure white fur, but the tips of his tail was silver.
"Princess, what happened?" I heard a familiar voice among the crowd call out. We turned and saw Mama Ellena walking toward us, arms reaching for me. I smiled at her and let her clean me up a bit, "Out playing with the boys?"
