Liam and I walk into their hotel room to everybody sitting on the couch watching T.V. “Guys, this is Lulu.” Liam said pointing towards me.
“Nice to meet you, Lulu.” Niall said standing up and shaking my hand.
“She’s pretty!” Louis screamed making me wince.
“Thank you.” I said blushing.
“You didn’t have to scream, Boo bear.” Harry said laughing.
“Don’t mind them.” Zayn said walking over to me and shaking my hand. Zayn looked at Liam, “How did you guys meet?”
Liam ran his fingers through his hair, “Well, after our rehearsal, I went exploring and I heard music playing so I followed it. That’s when I found Lulu playing the piano and singing along to it.”
Zayn smiled, “What a coincidence.”
I laughed, “Yea I guess so.”
“Let’s go. I have to talk to you about something.” Liam said pulling me towards his bedroom. “When I heard you playing earlier I knew you have a passion for music, I could feel it with every word you sang. How do you feel about coming on tour with us as our opening act?” Liam asked with a grin on his face.
“I don’t know, Liam. I’m very shy when it comes to being on stage. You’re the only person that has heard me sing other than my family.” I said running my fingers through my hair.
“Will you do it if the boys and I can you make you feel more comfortable on stage before we leave tomorrow night?” Liam said smiling at me.
“Yes but only if I feel comfortable by the end of the night, because I have to pack tonight if I’m going to go with you guys.” I said smirking.
“Is that a challenge?” Liam asked playfully punching my arm.
“Yea, I guess it is.” I said giggling.
“Okay, let me tell the boys.” Liam said taking my hand guiding me towards the living room.
“Guys, we found our opening act but only on one condition.” Liam said cheerfully pointing at me.
“Which is?” Zayn asked with a curious look on his face.
“We have to get her to be comfortable on stage by the end of the night.” Liam said smiling.
“That should be easy.” Louis said jumping up, grabbing my hand and dragging me out the door.
“Where are we going?” I asked still being drug by Louis.
“The park, there is a piano in the gazebo there.” Louis said finally letting go of my hand. I was silent the rest of the way there.
When we got to the park, Louis led me to the gazebo where a beautiful black grand piano was. “Go ahead, play.” Louis said pushing me towards the piano.
“I can’t, Lou.” I said backing away.
“Yes you can Lulu. Don’t think about people watching you, just play. Let your heart guide you.” Louis said pushing me towards the piano again.
I began to play softly. I started to sing. The further into the song I got, the louder I got. I was finally getting into the song as people started to gather around. I started to get nervous but then thought about what Louis told me and let my heart guide me. When I finished, everybody cheered and Louis hugged me. “See, I told you, you could do it.” Louis said guiding me back to the hotel.
“Yea, I know but I’m still not comfortable.” I said frowning.
“It’s okay, you will be by the end of the night.” Louis said wrapping his arm around my waist.
“Thanks, Lou.” I said pecking him on the cheek.
When we got back to the hotel room I told the boys I still wasn’t comfortable, so Niall grabbed my hand and dragged me outside yet again.
“Where are we going?” I asked as Niall led me farther into town.
“You’ll see.” Niall said smirking.
We arrived at a building that had a banner across it saying, “5th annual Sing Star contest.” “I wanted to show you how other people are so comfortable on stage.” Niall said guiding me inside.
“Um, okay.” I said sitting down next to Niall at a table in front of a stage with somebody singing.
The person finished and the audience clapped, then the announcer came on stage ready to call the next contestant. The announcer finally said, “Lucynda Parker.”
I glared at Niall as he was pushing me on stage. “Don’t think about it, just play.” Niall said finally getting me on stage.
I sat down on the bench in front of the piano and began playing. I felt a little more comfortable than when I was at the park, so that meant they were making progress.
When I finished, everybody stood up and cheered as I walked off stage to sit back down. I glared at Niall, “How did you get me into this contest so fast?”
He laughed, “That’s an advantage of being famous, you have your connections.”
I sighed and turned back to the stage to watch the rest of the show.
When the contest was over the announcer asked for all of the contestants to come back on stage. He announced the 3rd place winner. Then the 2nd place winner. Then finally said, “This years Sing Star winner is…Lucynda Parker!” Everybody cheered as I went up to get my trophy. After I had everything, Niall and I went back to the hotel.
“So you comfortable yet, Lulu?” Louis asked as Niall and I walked into the room.
“Unfortunately, no.” I said plopping down on the couch, but before I could get comfortable, Harry grabbed my hand and pulled me out the door.
Harry stopped in the lobby. “What are we doing here?” I asked looking around at all the people looking anxious, waiting for something.
“You’re going to play for all of these lovely people here.” Harry said pushing me towards the piano.
“How did get all of these people here?”
“I have my ways. Now give these people what they want.” He said laughing
I sat down on the bench knowing I wasn’t getting out of this. I began to play and yet again felt a little more comfortable with what I was doing.
When I finished, everybody stood up and cheered. “Nice job. You’re a born natural.” Harry said guiding me back to the hotel room.
“Thanks.” I said grinning.
“How about now?” Zayn said as I walked into the kitchen to grab a drink.
I frowned, “No not yet but I’m getting there.”
Zayn grabbed my hand and pulled my out the door AGAIN. Zayn led me to a music store just down the street from the hotel. We went inside and found a beautiful grand piano sitting in the window. Zayn pulled the bench out for me to sit on it. I sat down and began playing. I felt even more comfortable than I did before. By the time I had finished, people were gathered by the window. They all cheered as Zayn and I headed back to the hotel. Zayn looked at, “So how was that?”
I smiled, “You’re almost there because that I felt pretty comfortable that time but not completely.”
When we got back to the hotel, I sat down on the couch only to be bombarded by all of the boys. Harry leaned in towards me, “Are comfortable yet?”
“Only a little bit better but not completely.” Liam grabbed my hand dragging me out of the room for the fifth time.
“Now where am I going?” I asked walking out of the hotel.
“Niall’s favorite restaurant, Nando’s.” Liam said grinning.
“Of course we are.” I said giggling.
“Well, I have to eat sometime don’t I?.” Liam said laughing. I giggled again.
When we arrived, we walked in and Liam sat down and ordered food after he pushed me towards the piano in the middle of the room. I sat down and began to play, this time I was completely comfortable. They did it. They broke my shell of shyness. I’m going on tour with One Direction. Holy crap. I’M going on tour with One Direction. This has been a dream come true.
When I finished playing, I didn’t wait for the applause. I ran over to Liam and engulfed him in a hug. “What was that for?” Liam asked looking confused.
“I feel comfortable on stage!” I half screamed as Liam grabbed me and spun me around.
“Yay! You’re going on tour with us.” He said as he paid for his food and left.
“Yes I am.” I said as we walked back to the hotel.
When we walked into the hotel room, Niall asked, “Do you feel comfortable on stage now?”
“Yes!” I said as Niall hugged me.
“So does this mean you’re going on tour with us?” Niall said looking curious.
“Of course. I told you I would.” I said being attacked with a group hug.
“Yay!” They all said in unison.
“It’s late I should probably go home and pack. I’ll see you guys here tomorrow.” I said grabbing the door knob and waving.
“Be here by 4.” Liam called through the door.
