I called Lieza up as I was getting ready for work. My head squeezed the skinny phone between my ear and shoulder, as I pulled my skin tight jeans on.
"I tried texting him but he's just blocking me somehow! The message won't deliver!"
"Sara, did you really expect to date a star? You set your expectations too high."
"You don't understand! He was so down to Earth and he told me he..." I was about to say love but that just wasn't the truth anymore. In fact, he kind of hated me.
"Oh Sara I know. I know he said he loved you but you can't trust famous guys like that. He could pick any girl he wanted, that's why he's such a jerk."
"Lieza, he thinks I was cheating on him. He's not the jerk, I am."
"You didn't even cheat Sara! He's believing in a bunch of bs!"
"It doesn't matter weather what he believes is the truth or not, because he's already made up his mind to shun me. It's over.
"Don't think like that, be optimistic."
"I have to go to work now, thanks for talking."
"Okay, remember what I said... bye."
I slid my phone into my pocket, grabbed my keys and headed to my car.
I arrived and the other worker had already showed up. I looked at the clock, I was five minutes late. My boss hated when we were late, even though we didn't open for another ten minutes. I went to the back and got my apron.
"Okay Sara you're on sales today and Charlotte you're on making the drinks. Your shifts end as usual, three hours. I'll be in back if you need me." Then she left us and we waited for customers.
It was a long day of fake smiling to strangers and accepting "credit or debit!" The job made me nauseous but I needed the income. Charlotte was really the one that should always be in sales. She deals with people very well. She is nice, she's just very...perky. She's always happy, too happy. I know I sound terrible right now but she just has too much energy for me. Like... calm down, life isn't all lollipops and gumdrops sweetheart. But I could never say that to her sensitive feelings. Besides, she was good company. Her happiness balanced me out. Also she was smart, she always knew what she was doing, which I admired.
I served the last few customers then closed up. I put my apron away and headed back home. "Bye, Charlotte!" I tried to sound cheery and she waved back with her signature smile.
After I got back home it clicked inside me that seeing him again was no longer possible. Soon days, weeks, months passed by and I was still stuck in this daily routine. Get up, go to work, come home, go to sleep, repeat. It was a vicious cycle that needed to end because every second of everyday within this routine was something more. I always felt emtpy. Harry was gone and so was me.
My days became lonely. "Months, months, months." That would pressed inside my mind. As time passed me by, my feelings stayed the same. I couldn't get over him. When Harry left, he must've taken a piece of me with him.
