I walked to my locker, and put my books away. I grabbed my phone and headed towards the cafeteria.
I texted Lindsay.
"hey babe, where are yea?"
It was great that every day we had lunch together, but only a one class together this semester.
I got an answer right away.
"at my locker still, coming now xx"
I smiled. "alright. Ill save you a spot"
"thanks my great best friend"
I chuckled, and walked into the cafeteria. It was loud, and everyone was in their place as usual.
The smart people with the smart people (Not gonna say nerds/geeks... I just can't be mean), the jocks with the jocks, cheerleaders with them as well, and ect.
I stood in line, and Lindsay appeared beside me.
"Hey, how were the classes?" I asked her, grabbing a tray. She grabbed one too, sighing.
"Boring. Very, very boring. All of them, just shoot me now," She answered. I laughed. "And you?"
"Same. God, I hate the people in my classes too. Not even Carter or David is in them." I complained, grabbing different things to eat.
Lindsay nodded, getting food as well. We paid, and walked to our normal table.
"I know. I wish we were in every class together," She sat down beside me. I started eating, going through Twitter on my phone.
"Anything good?" Lindsay asked, eating a salad, where I had fries and a burger. Meh. I'm not cautious about what I eat, and I'm still fit. So what?
"Nope. Oh yeah, wait. Niall tweeted." I said excitedly. She chuckled and rolled her eyes.
"What's it say?"
"Morning guys. How are all of yea? Good to be home x." I quoted his tweet.
"Ah, typical Niall," She shook her head, grinning. I smiled.
"He's so adorable." I stated an obvious fact.
"I know! And ugh, don't get me started on Harry. So sexy," She said.
"Aww. Lindsay and Harry, sitting in a tree," I sang, as she blushed.
"K-I-S-S-I-N-G!" I continued. Suddenly, David and Collin sat in front of us with some food.
Did I mention they had lunch with us, as well as Carter?
"Who's kissing?" David smiled, going into his mockment of how we gossip, as he says.
"Lindsay and Harry!" I sang, again. Lindsay just punched my arm.
"Oh shut up. It's never going to happen, anyway." She said sadly.
I sighed. "I know. It's never going to happen with me and Niall either."
"At least you have Carter," She mumbled, and bit into her salad.
"Speaking of Carter, where is he?" I asked, looking at Collin and David. Collin shrugged.
"Last I saw him was this morning." He said.
"He's probably just late," David said. I nodded.
"I have to go pee, be right back," I announced, and stood up.
"Have fun," David smirked. Lindsay threw a fry at him, which he only caught with his mouth.
I walked out of the cafeteria, and towards the nearest bathroom. I saw the signs, and walked into the girls, with my phone in hand. I was scrolling through Tweets, when I heard someone moan.
I looked up, and froze at what I saw.
Clare and Carter, making out completely. In the girls bathroom.
Really, if he was going to cheat on me, he could've done it somewhere... I don't know... less public.
I just stood there. I couldn't find my voice. And I was scared if I talked, it'd break off and I'd start crying. I couldn't cry in front of Clare though. She'd think I was weak. That's the last thing I needed.
Carter's hands started travelling up her mini skirt, and that's when I couldn't take it.
"Carter!" I snapped, tears threatening to escape any second.
He jumped away, and looked at me with an expression like he was caught in an illegal drug exchange by the police.
Clare hid a grin, but I noticed it.
"E-El! I um... I was just about to go to the bathroom, and Clare just grabbed me and started to kiss me." Carter lamely said.
I smiled. "You were about to go in the girls bathroom?" I asked quietly.
He frowned. "Babe, it's not like that. I was caught in the moment."
"Shut up Carter. That's BS. And you know what? You're living proof that a man can live without a brain, that's how freakin' idiotic you sound." I hissed at him. He looked shocked.
"Come on. You and I both know you don't mean that..." He said, stepping towards me slowly.
I shook my head, and glared at him. "I mean it Carter. I'll never forget the first time we met. But I'll just keep trying."
He paused, and stared at me, looking hurt. How can he be hurt when HE was kissing Clare?
Clare stepped forward, in front of Carter.
"She isn't worth it Carter, just give up," She smirked at me.
"Oh, shut the hell up Clare! The only smart thing to ever come out of your mouth was a dick." I spat the words out. She looked taken a back, so I spun around and stormed out.
I ran for the cafeteria, and already knew I had tears streaming down my face. I covered them with my hair, and walked back to my table.
"Collin, give me the keys, I'm going home," I said, looking away.
I felt Lindsay and Collin's eyes on me.
"Why?" He asked, looking up at me.
"Just give them.." I was trying my hardest to keep my voice together.
"Not until you tell me why." He said sternly.
I slammed my hands on the table, and looked at him. Everyone in the cafeteria went silent, and looked at us.
I then noticed David wasn't even there, but ignored it. It was one less person to see me cry.
"I'm not going to deal with this, Collin. Give them to me now." I blinked, and another load of tears dripped onto the table.
Collin watched the tears fall in shock, and Lindsay stood up.
"El, what happened?" She whispered, reaching out for me. I stepped away. Everyone was still watching us.
"Why won't you just let me go? God DANGIT! Mind your own business!" I yelled, and then sprinted out.
"Electra! Wait!" I heard my brother yell after me, but I ignored him, and pushed my way through the doors.
I ran down the halls to my locker, and opened it. I sniffled and sobbed, grabbing my bag and shoving my homework inside.
I slammed it shut, before walking quickly to the front exit.
Once I made it out, I sat down onto a bench by the parking lot, and cried.
I took out my phone, and started deleting all the pictures I and Carter took together.
2 years we were together. 2 years, and then he just goes and does this.
Angered, I wiped away the tears off my phone harshly.
I deleted him as a contact on my phone, and on Face Book.
I may have been overreacting, but every girl in some point overreacts to things. More than once, too. But could you blame me? I thought we actually had something special. I knew him for seven God damn years!
I sat there and cried for a few minutes, before I heard someone.
I wiped my tears frantically, and glanced over to see David standing there with a cigarette in hand. So that's where he went off to.
"What's wrong?" He sat down beside me, throwing the cigarette away.
"Carter and Clare," I simply said, and he wrapped his arms around me.
He didn't say anything. He just hugged me as I cried.
I sighed, and pulled away after awhile.
"Alright, I think I'm okay..." I said. David looked at me sadly.
"Are you sure?" He asked. I nodded.
"I'll just walk home. Can you sign me out please?" I asked, as I stood up.
"Of course," He stood up as well.
"Thanks David." I grinned slightly. He smiled, wiping away my tears.
"No problem El. I'll beat Carter up for you," He joked, but I could tell he would do something to Carter.
I chuckled. "I'll see you later. Tell Lindsay to text me."
"I'm pretty sure she already has," He commented, nodding down at my vibrating cell phone in my hand. I hadn't even noticed. I checked my texts, and saw I had several from Lindsay and Collin.
"Right," I said stupidly.
David smiled, and kissed my cheek. "Feel better, sweetheart," He said. I nodded, and hugged him one last time.
"Thanks again." I said as I pulled away. He smiled.
"I'm always here for you,"
I smiled back, grabbed my bag and headed off.
"Love you!" He called out. I laughed.
"Love you too, David!"
I started heading home, but went a different way. Somewhere I always went when I needed to think.
