It was 12:50 in California. Since most people would be at school right now, the boys and I decided to go out somewhere.
We of course had disguises on, just in case. I wore a hat, and some sunglasses. I pulled on some black shorts, a white t-shirt, and blue and white Nikes.
"Ready to go?" Liam asked, as we all met at the front door.
"Yep," We agreed. I noticed the boys had hats and sunglasses too.
After a short while, we were outside the hotel, on the boardwalk, walking beside the beach.
We stopped to get ice cream, and continued on.
There weren't much people. Just some on their bikes, walking their dogs, and stuff like that.
We stopped beside a park. On one side of the park was the board walk, and then the beach, and the ocean. On the other side was a long pathway surrounded by trees to keep it shady.
"What should we do?" I asked. We were quiet for awhile, just thinking.
"I'm going to go get a tan. Anyone wanna come?" Harry asked, while throwing the rest of his ice cream away.
"Sure," Louis answered.
"What about you Liam?" I looked at Liam. He looked around, and his eyes landed on a work out place.
"I'm gonna go work out." He smiled. We laughed.
"Same old Liam. I'll come," Zayn spoke out.
"Alright. Niall, wanna come tan with us?" Louis asked me. I shook my head.
"How about you come and get some abs," Liam said, lifting up my shirt, and slapping my stomach.
"I'm happy with how my body is. Don't make me insecure," I joked, as they laughed in response.
"Okay then. Text when one of us is ready to leave," Harry said. We nodded, and they headed off.
The work out area was nice. The walls were glass, so you could see the people working out inside.
Harry and Louis raced off towards the beach, and I just stood there. I finished my ice cream, and headed to the swing set.
I sat down on one, and watched as a mother pushed her child in the baby one.
The kid giggled and clapped happily, causing me to smile.
After awhile, the mother took her child and left.
I looked around, and took out my phone. I read through a lot of Tweets and DM's, before Tweeting something.
"feels good to be relaxing... chillen with the boys. Somewhat, ahah, they all ran off."
I got new replies instantly, but just ignored them and read some more about the other boys and One Direction.
I heard someone coming and glanced up, to see a teenage girl approaching. I practically jumped off the swing.
"Sorry! Did I scare you?" She asked. I stared at her, deciding rather to make a run for it or not. Maybe she won't recognize me.
"U-um..." I stuttered. She stared at me from behind her sunglasses. I then put on my best American accent. "Yeah. But it's alright, I get scared easily," Which was true.
"Oh. Sorry. Mind if I...?" She motioned to the swing. I shook my head.
"No, go ahead,"
She smiled and sat beside me on the swing.
"Shouldn't you be in school?" I asked, glancing at her. She shrugged, watching the waves of the ocean. I followed her gaze, and saw Harry and Louis wrestling in the sand. I chuckled slightly.
"Yeah," She looked at me for a second. "But, I could ask the same for you. You look pretty young."
"18," I grinned at her. She smiled back.
"So... why aren't you? Just ditching?" I asked. She sighed.
"I just needed to get away. I caught my boyfriend cheating on me with the bitch of the school." She said. I frowned.
"Oh. I'm sorry."
"Nah, it's alright. I feel like we didn't have anything special, anyways. We dated for 2 years, but in that time... we didn't really do anything. Just hugging and kissing." She explained. I nodded slowly.
"Not that I wanted anything more than hugging and kissing, I mean," She laughed awkwardly. "I'm extremely fine with just that. I just think he didn't want to go any further than that."
"Right," I said.
"Sorry. I made this awkward, and I don't even know you," She laughed, and I did too.
"It's fine. Awkward is cute." I smiled at her, and she smiled at the ground.
"So, how about you, huh? Why aren't you at school, Mr 18 year old?" She questioned, looking up at me.
I chuckled. "Well... I felt like I had to get away too. I just.. Suddenly missed the people I'm always with. Even if it's for a week I don't see them, I miss them like crazy. It's weird. I just wandered off alone to come think." I said, as I watched Louis and Harry finally settle in on the sand.
The girl didn't notice them. She just brushed them off like they were two random boys tanning. Unless, she didn't even know who One Direction was.
She nodded. "Understandable. I come here to think, too." She said.
"That's cool. What do you think about?" I asked. She swung her feet a bit, back and forth.
"Just... things. Life, mostly," She looked over at me.
"Makes sense. Life is.." I paused and chuckled, shaking my head. "So confusing."
"It is." She said quietly, looking away from me.
We were both quiet.
"What's your name?" She suddenly asked.
"Ni—oah. Noah is my name." I corrected myself. I glanced at her, making sure she didn't catch it. And she didn't.
Whew. Close one, Nialler.
"Noah. Cute name," She smiled, and I couldn't help but look away and blush. Even if Noah wasn't my real name, her smile was perfect.
"And you, Sweetheart?" I asked. She blushed in return. Hah. I smirked.
"Electra. Most of my friends call me El, though." She answered.
I let out a low whistle. "Sexy name you have there." I said, causing her to blush again and laugh. I smiled.
"Why, thank you, Noah," She giggled.
Oh God. Her giggle was perfect.
I stuck out my hand, and she shook it. We both smiled.
"Pleasure to meet you, Princess," I smiled. She blushed even more.
"God, stop it. You're making me blush." She laughed, shaking my hand.
"I can tell," I lowered my sunglasses a bit, and winked at her. It seemed like she tensed up, and then she looked away.
"So, uh, are you here alone?" Electra asked, trying to act casual, but I knew something was wrong. I shrugged it off.
"Nah." I answered. She frowned.
"Oh. Who with?"
"Just my buds. Those idiots over there," I pointed to Harry and Louis who were throwing sand at each other.
"They seem... comfortable with each other," She said awkwardly. I laughed.
"I know. I sometimes think their gay even though one has a girlfriend." Electra laughed as well.
My phone began buzzing, and I looked down at it.
"hey bro. Whos the girl beside you? she seems interested. ;)" I rolled my eyes at Liam's text, and Electra noticed.
"What?" She asked, looking at me. I chuckled.
"Nothing, I just got a text from my other friend." I said. I texted back.
"none of your business. Go back to working out with zayn. -.-"
I glanced at the work out building, and saw Liam and Zayn laughing inside.
"get her number before it's too late." I looked down, and saw I had a text from Zayn. God, they're annoying as hell.
"dude, use some pick up lines!" Another text from Liam.
I turned off my phone, shooting a glare at them while Electra wasn't looking.
She took off her sunglasses, and looked at me.
I paused, looking at her, breathless.
I didn't realize how beautiful she was until now.
Her brown hair was in a ponytail, waving down the back of her neck like the waves in the ocean. And her eyes were gold. Like legit, the color gold. She was pretty tall. Maybe 5'5 or 5'6, where I was only 5'7.
"Wow. I hope you know CPR, because you took my breath away," I muttered. I blushed when I realized I shouldn't have said that out loud, but she laughed and her cheeks turned red.
"I think that's a compliment," She said awkwardly, still smiling.
I nodded. "It is. I barely know you, but you are really pretty," I said. She giggled.
"Please, stop." Electra said, looking at the ground.
"Why? I thought girls liked being complimented," I said. She glanced up at me.
"Of course they do. But it's embarrassing." She explained. I chuckled.
"Ah. I don't get that. But alright," She chuckled as well.
"So. Wanna play a game?" I asked. Electra looked at me, confused.
"A game? What kind?" She asked.
"We ask each other questions, to get to know each other better," I explained. She smiled.
"Sure. Me first," She started to swing a bit, and I followed.
We asked questions for a long time, and it was my turn.
"Do you like any bands?" I asked. She nodded eagerly.
"One Direction," She smiled.
"Really? Me too," I smiled.
"Are you gay?"
"I am not gay." I laughed, and she did too.
"Alright, just checking. And that's great! All the guys I meet hate One Direction. You're the first," She said.
"It's a pleasure then," I stopped swinging, and stood up to bow. She giggled, and her phone beeped.
She checked it, and frowned, standing up.
"I didn't realize what time it was," She said. "Its 3:21, I have to get home,"
"Whoa, what? It's been 3 hours?" My eyes widened. She nodded.
"You know what they say. Time flies when you're having fun," She chuckled. I laughed.
"True." I agreed.
"Well, it was nice meeting you Noah," She said, grinning.
"You too, Electra,"
She waved, and then started walking away.
I closed my eyes. "Wait." I called out. She stopped, and turned to me.
"Yeah?" She asked.
"Um.. Can I have your number? I've seemed to have forgotten mine," I said lamely, blushing. She laughed, and walked back over.
"Give me your hand," She instructed. I did as she said, and she pulled out a pen from the back pocket in her shorts.
She wrote a number on my arm and smiled.
Electra then turned, and walked away.
I looked down at my arm, and it had her number, I was assuming.
It said underneath,
"call me maybe?"
I smiled, and headed back for the hotel, assuming the boys were already there.
I walked into our room, and heard them laughing while playing something.
I turned a corner, and they were on the couch, watching TV with popcorn everywhere.
They looked at me.
"Hey, there's our Nialler!" Liam shouted, and ran over to me. He put me in a headlock, and rubbed his fist against my head. I laughed, and shoved him away.
I joined the others on the couch.
"So, Niall, who's the girl?" Zayn smirked at me. Everyone stared at me, and I blushed.
"Her names Electra," I said.
"That's an American-Ass name. Never heard it before," Louis said, and smiled. I chuckled, and Harry grabbed my arm.
"You got her phone number? And our little Nialler scored!" Harry yelled. They all stood up, and cheered, as I just sat there laughing.
"Is she a Directioner?" Liam asked. I nodded.
"Good," All the boys smiled in relief, and sat down again.
We watched TV and played for the rest of the evening.
