4. The band member
Amy looked up and into the eyes she'd gotten so used to. The eyes that curved when he smiled at her in the halls, the eyes that shined when he got a question right or improved in his work.
"Michael?" I gasped, shocked. He was staring right back into my eyes and when I realized I wanted to shy away, but I fought my urge.
The rest of the boys had started to notice what was going on, and had stopped their commotion to watch us questioningly.
"How do you know Michael?" I heard my brother ask me.
I just sat there in shock, stuttering and trying to find my voice.
"I ran into her in the hallway the other day." Michael interjected. I looked at him and mouthed the word thanks, he just nodded in return. "I didn't realize she was your sister." Michael seemed to hiss the last words, and never took his eyes of me even once.
The band started to head into the basement, but I noticed my brother stay in the doorway of the kitchen.
Michael was still standing in front of me, making full, unbreaking eye contact with me.
"You coming?" Jake asked his friend.
That snapped Michael out of his trance. "Yeah, in a sec. I'm just gonna grab some water." he responded quickly and calmly.
