"Fury was put down..." I hear Aut Midnight say from the hall. I left the table after Dad started talking about how we would all warm up to Tori eventually. I don't think that was going to happen.
Anyway, Fury was Bex's dog.
"Don't TOUCH ME!" Pounding footsteps go upstairs. I knew Fury was hurt, but how could you live with yourself after putting an animal down? Did the vet even ask first? I park myself in the kitchen and eat what's left of the pasta out of the bowl on the stove.
Luckily my room is only on the second floor, so all I have to do is crawl up a set of steps. It doesn't hurt that much. I leave the wheelchair behind at the bottom of the stairs. I crawl on my hands and knees until I get to my room. Nobody really does anything fo a while, but then I hear another pair of footsteps. One I know is Queenie's, and the other must be Tori's. I listen to them, not getting our of bed though. For some reason I'm really tired.
As their talking I only catch one part, "Do you have a death wish?" Queenie asks. I don't hear Tori's answer, but I know where they're heading, Bex's room. Tori wants to talk to Bex? That should tell you enough, Tori must have a death wish.
The next thing I hear is a series of 'booms' down the stairs. I run out of my room, forgetting about my back, and almost trip over the wheelchair in front of my door. Queenie must have brought it up. I sit myself carefully in it, watching and hiding my laughs as Tori's body thumps down the steps. Bex stands at the top, laughing yet terrified of what mom is going to say.
"REBBECA ECLIPSE SHADOWNIGHT!" Mom yell. Bex holds her hands up in defense.
"She was getting on my nerves!" I notice her eyes are red and a little puffy, she must have been crying. I don't blame her, even though I don't have my own pet, I know what it feels like to lose something you care about and not have any way to stop it. That's how I felt with Fisher, who haunts my dreams to this day. I've just gotten better at hiding it.
Tori laughs at Bex's name. I want to pound her so bad right now. Dad comes back up he steps, grabbing the bars of my chair and pulling my slowly down the stairs. I give a death glare to Tori, but then smiling, thinking how little time she will last under Queenie's training schedule.
Travis came back over today, to pick out a flavor of cake. She already planned it out, but they're still battling whether it should be white and classy or just chocolate and non-fancy. I don't even know who's on which side, or if they want both. I like to stay out of romantic topics.
