I went to school as usual and this day, everything was different. Many people stopped and asked how it was with Sandra and they asked if she would soon come home again. It was as if everyone knew who Niall really was and that if they looked up to me. Liam came up to me and laughed a little bit.
"The rumour has gone past you, huh?"
I nodded a little bit and we stopped in front of each other.
"What kind of rumour are we talking about?"
He smiled and looked at me with a little mischievous look. I understood that he was behind it.
"Let's say that many people know that Niall's together with that tough girl."
"But it wasn't supposed to come out?"
Liam didn't care about my words.
"She broke up with Jeff and she's with you. You said it yourself?"
Even Perrie came up to me and gave me a hug.
"Now I know why you didn't like me at the party!" she said and laughed. "I didn't know you were such a tough guy?"
"I'm still the same Niall?"
"But now, everyone like you and I like you. Now you're not a wimp anymore and you have come up."
I didn't like what she said.
"I'm Niall and no one else. Just because I'm with Sandra doesn't mean I'm like Jeff or that I changing myself."
She didn't agree.
"Come on and admit that you are attracted by the tough life?"
Niall came in to me and he didn't look happy. He sat on the edge of the bed and tried to still smile at me.
"How are you?"
I smiled and I just wanted to hug him.
"Awesome! I feel like my life finally has meaning."
He looked still not happy. He sighed and looked down at my hands that held his.
"In school, they know that we're a couple now. I happened to talk to Liam and he spread it out."
I didn't care. I cared neither about rumours or what people was saying about us.
Niall took a deep breath.
"They think I'm the school's new Jeff."
I didn't know what the problem was. I sat up and looked at him for a long time.
"But what's the problem?"
Niall met my gaze.
"I don't want to change, but I know it's easy when others believe things about me."
I took my arms and hugged him tightly.
"Niall, you don't need to change and I love you."
He smiled and took his arms around my body. I still didn't understand why he reacted that way, but something told me that he had a reason.
"We don't care." I whispered, looking into his eyes. "We don't listen to them. We know what we have and all the rest is unimportant."
A few days later I was discharged and returned home. I still had a bandaged arm and my body ached, but I felt more alive than ever. My mom just snorted when I came into the hall and stared at me cold.
"So your okay?"
I couldn't accept her cold words. I went back to my room and locked the door. It was nice to be where my stuff was and I enjoyed it anyway. I couldn't let an angry mom ruin my life and now I had Niall by my side.
