She didn't get much sleep that night, when she did, she slept on the couch. She didn't mind it, in fact, it was incredible compared to the hard, wooden floor she was used to.
She found the kitchen and explored it. Thee was enough food to make breakfast, so she got right to it. She took the eggs out of the fridge and set them on the counter. She took out a frying pan and turned the oven on. She cracked one egg and let it fry in the pan while she did 3 more.
She hoped he liked scrambled. She slipped the toast in the toaster as one of her favourite songs came on the radio. She couldn't help, but dance to the music.
She grabbed a nearby broom. "She's got something that I can't figure out, that everyone's talking about." She sung and she cooked the breakfast.
"The muddy river bank, she's the first in, last out." She sung as she places the toast and eggs into the plates. She put seasoning on the eggs and started on the bacon.
"She's got the mood ring, she's never the same." She sings aloud into the broom as if it was a microphone.
Spider-Man woke to hear her singing. He slowly got up and made his way to the kitchen to see her singing. He half smiled, thinking it was kinda cute.
She spun around to look him square in the eyes. She froze.
"Uh-... Food's ready..." She said quietly. She placed the bacon in each plate and set it on the table. She laughed nervously. She smiled awkwardly, unable to tell his expression under his mask. "I'm-uh- just going to go-um- go over there..." She says and runs out of the kitchen and into the bedroom. The white sheets were stained with blood and looked like they had been slept in, which they had.
She sits in the corner of the room for a couple of minuets. Until the door creaks open. She instantly scrambles to her feet to see Spider-Man look her square in the eyes, she could feel it.
There was a silence, but finally: "thanks for everything..." Spiderman said shyly. She nodded, a small smile forming on her lips.
"I should say thanks, too..." She says and looks at the ground sheepishly.
"You make good food..." He says awkwardly and she giggles a bit.
"Thanks..." She says. "Why did my father shoot you?" She asks with a growing fascination and fear.
He hesitated, she couldn't see his expression, but she felt he was hiding something from her.
"He's-he's..." He began, almost afraid to tell her. "He's.... Not your father..."
She thought the world has stopped for a second. Anger and sadness flooded over her and she began to cry. Tears streamed down her face. She was taken by surprise when Spider-Man wrapped his arms around her to comfort her. She couldn't help bit hug him back. She buried her face in his chest, feeling his body heat. She sobbed quietly, thinking of all the times she thought her father loved her.
"Then w-who is h-he?" She asked in a shaky voice and looked up at him with her tear stained cheeks.
He sighed. "He's an assassin that murdered your father years ago... And your mother... He's been posing as your father for years." He says. She burst into more tears and hugged him tightly.
"How do you know this?" She asked skeptically between sobs.
"He's one of my enemies... He-He...." He stops and looks up at the wall.
"He what?" She whispers and looks up at his face.
"Nothing..." He says and pulls himself away. "It's nothing." He walks out of the room and she stands there sadly, her cheeks stained with tears.
She sat in the corner on the room and buried her face in her knees and cried.
