I never like getting up early but I seemed to be the first awake for the first day of school. I groaned as the clock said 6:30 but I got up anyway. I jumped, literally, into the shower and nearly slipped over. I won't be doing that again.
I washed my hair and body and, for some stupid reason, jumped out of the shower. This time I landed on my butt. It hurt!
I half limped back to my dorm and put on my black skinny jeans, a white shirt, my now Gryffindor tie, my cardigan that now had Gryffindor colours and my black converse. I grabbed my Gryffindor robe and slung it over my shoulder. It was already 7:30 so I just walked down to breakfast and let the others sleep.
I got to the great hall and there were only like 30 people there.
"Ah! Miss.Black! Can I see you in my office please?" I turned around to see Dumbledore. I love his eyes.
"Sure sir. Did you know, your eyes are really twinkly!" He chuckled at my comment and nodded.
"I have been told. Do you have the letter that was left in your vault?" He asked. Yeh, I carried it everywhere with me since I found it.
"Yeh. I have it."
"Good. Let's go then." I just nodded and followed him. I wonder what this is about. We got to a big gargoyle and it opened its wings.
"Password." It's big deep voice demanded.
"Hello Arnold." Dumbledore greeted. Arnold? "Lemon Sour Skittle." That's a mouthful.
"Thank you sir." The gargoyle started moving and revealed some stairs. I followed him up there and we entered his office. I sat in front of the desk and he sat in a big chair.
Then there was a knock on the door and I looked around. Lupin came in and sat in the seat next to me.
"Right. Now everyone is here, I have an important thing to discuss. Can I have that letter please Alexis?" I took it out and handed it to him. "Thank you." He read it and then put it down next to another letter. I peered over and they were both the same writing.
"What's that other letter Albus?" Lupin spoke.
"This is the letter that came with Alexis to the orphanage." What? I need to read that letter!
"Sir! Can I read it?" He smiled at me.
"I shall read it out for you both." He picked up the letter and then cleared his throat.
I believe you work here now. I can't deal with anything at the moment, you may have seen it in the daily prophet about my husband. This baby is Alexis Jaymee Black. She is three days old. I'm am so sorry that I have to leave her here. I have to go away and would not be fit to look after her.
I haven't seen anyone in months. Ever since last Halloween I didn't speak to anyone. I haven't seen my brother since either, I was waiting to give birth to finally go away.
I beg you not to think ill of me Louisa. I don't want to be around people and I also feel that they shall come looking for me. He is innocent Louisa, you must believe me. I have known you and your family for many years and I beg you to look after my baby.
She will never meet or see me and I feel it is better that way. I love her so much and I will never forget her.
All my love,
P.L xx" He finished and my head was spinning. Louisa knew who my mother was all this time? My mother is probably still alive and ditched her friends and family to just get up and leave.
I could feel the hot tears rushing down my face.
"What does this mean Albus?" Lupin asked. His voice sounded hard and emotional.
"This means that we know who her parents are Remus." Dumbledore declared.
"What? Who are they? Are they alive?" I stood up and stared at the man. He breathed in and out deeply before answering.
"Can I have a look at that bracelet please Alexis?" He asked. Why can't he just tell me already? I took it off and handed it to him, Lupin gasped and Albus' eyes widened.
"My fears are true. Have a look Remus." Lupin looked at the bracelet and he had tears in his eyes. He nodded and held onto it.
"What is it professor?" I sat back down and wiped away the silent tears.
"Your mother is Poppy Lupin, Alexis." I gasped and stared between the two men.
"D-does this mean that, that Lupin is-"
"No. I'm not your father." Lupin piped up. Then tears streamed down his face as he looked at me and pulled me in for a hug. "I-I'm your uncle." More tears streamed down my face and I smiled. I hugged him tight and grabbed his robes.
"I c-can't believe it. I h-have f-family." I cried. He chuckled.
"Yes your right. So do I." He whispered. I then had a thought and pulled away.
"W-who's my f-father though?" I sniffed. I felt like I was being such a wussy. Lupin paled and Dumbledore lost the twinkle in his eye. "Who. Is. He?" I started feeling angry now.
"His name is Sirius Black." That name rang a bell to me. Hermione mentioned something about a Sirius.
"Some sort of murderer or something?"
"Yes. He has escaped Azkaban this year and is coming for Harry Potter." Dumbledore explained.
"Harry? Why Harry?" Lupin, well I guess I should call him uncle now, sighed and stared at me.
"I was best friends with Sirius in school. Me, him, James Potter, Harry's father, and a boy names Peter Pettigrew, were all friends. We had this little group. James and Sirius were like brothers. When we all left school, Sirius and my sister Poppy got married and so did Lily and James. Lily is Harry's mother. They had Harry a couple of years later and had to go into hiding because of Voldemort, who you don't know about.
Anyway, Sirius was James' secret keeper, so if Sirius told anyone the location of the Potters' house they could go there easily. Unless the secret keeper told you the location, you cannot even see the house. Cut a long story short, Sirius told Voldemort where the Potters were and he went and killed James and Lily and attempted to kill Harry.
Peter, our other friend, went after Sirius and he killed Peter and thirteen muggles in the process." I was bubbling with anger. My father is a sick basterd, great. I jumped up and ran out of the office, they tried to call me back but I didn't bother. I freely cried and screamed with rage. I ran around for a while and ended up outside. It was still lesson time so no one was around.
I ran down to the tree next to the lake and kicked it hard. I slumped to the floor and ignored the pain in my foot. I couldn't believe it, my mother just abandoned me and my father is a murderous lunatic who has broken out of prison to kill an innocent boy.
I pulled at my hair in frustration and I heard a whine. I looked to my right and saw a big black shaggy haired dog. I gave a weak smile and then turned back to look over the lake. The dog nudged my shoulder and then stood in front of me.
"What?" I snapped. The dogs head turned down and I felt kinda bad. "Sorry. Bad day." It barked at me like it wanted to know what was wrong. "Basically, I've never known my parents. Now I've found out and I wish I hadn't." I sighed and carried on. It's like I felt the need to just pour out my sole to this dog. "My mother abandoned me and I've found out she is the sister to a teacher here, now I know him as my uncle. Then if things can't get any better, I find that my father is a murdering git who has broken from Azkaban to kill an innocent boy."
The dog looked like it had years in its eyes and I patted its head.
"I'm glad I have family though. Lupin is such a nice guy and he's really funny. It's just too much for me to take in. I'm only 11 years old for gods sake." The dog just barked again and jumped on me and started licking me. Gross.
I couldn't help but laugh though and he was big so he easily pinned me down. He kept shoving his wet nose in my face and licking it as well.
"Okay!" I giggled. "Get off me!" He jumped off and I stood up. "Your such a cool dog. I hope you stay around here, I need someone to talk to. Maybe I'll bring some food." I winked. He waged his tail and I think, no way, I think he nodded. "Cool. Alright, bye then doggy." I turned around and bumped into a black wall.
"What are you doing Black?" The voice sneered. I looked up and saw the greasy man who told me I was a witch. The dog was growling at him.
"I was letting off steam." I spoke. "Why?"
"You should be in classes." He hissed. He was getting on my nerves. I stepped back and crossed my arms.
"Well I have a good enough excuse. Why are you out here?" I smirked. I felt like being annoying.
"None of your business. Now get inside and get to class!" He pointed towards the castle but I shook my head.
"Nu-uh. I'm excused today sir. I'm sorry but I can't remember your name. Was it Severus greasy Snape?" I don't know what came over me but I would either be taking the mick or I would probably be yelling with rage because of what I had found out.
"How dare you speak to me like that! That's 30 points from Gryffindor and three detentions I think." His eyes flashed and he glared at me but I just laughed.
"Oh please. I don't care about detentions. I've been expelled from two other schools before. It's no big deal." I shrugged.
"That doesn't mean you can disrespect me!" He snarled and I just laughed again. It was really annoying him.
"Fine. Whatever." I turned to the dog. "See you around." I walked away but something grabbed my arm. The dog barked and growled angrily.
"Shut it you mangy dog!" Snape spat. "You can come with me Black. I'll inform the headmaster of this attitude."
"Fine." I sighed. "Slap the cuffs on and take me away." I saw the dog had his teeth bared at Snape as he dragged me away. Its nice to know that the dog likes and cares for me. I waved at the dog and he stopped baring his teeth and let his tongues hand out of its mouth and he stood up on two legs. I giggled and then he ran off.
A/N-- Another update readers!!
Before you start moaning at me, I know that Sirius didn't arrive at Hogwarts for a few weeks yet but I've decided to let him arrive early.
She found out about her parents!!! *gasp*.
But it's nice to know that she'll have a nice relationship with Padfoot without her knowing it's her dad.
Please tell me what you think :-P
