9. Chapter 8
I was wandering around in a big maze of hallways and rooms. This house was huge! Each hallway led to more hallways, and after a few turns, I have already lost the room I was in before. I finally found a set of stairs and I'm pretty sure I have just arrived in the living room. However, I wasn't prepared to be standing in front of three very familiar people. And before I can stop, I let out a huge gasp of surprise.
All heads immediately snapped towards my direction. Being the big idiot I am, I just stood there with my eyes and mouth opened wide.
The first to respond was Ethan. "Emily?" he choked out baffled. "What the hell are you doing here?" He was sitting on the couch next to another guy. On his other side was the girl I caught sneaking around in Olivia's dressing room.
"I-I, I um, w-was, er-" I couldn't muster up any words right now. When I woke up, I was in a stranger's bed with totally dry clothes on. Then I remembered what happened in the alleyway but everything was still like a clump of tangled spaghetti right now.
I couldn't help but notice Shania timidly trying to slip and hide behind Ethan's back. On the inside I was smirking at the little b*tch, but I couldn't find the courage to do that right now.
"So you two already met each other?" the tall and fit guy with the green eyes asked with a raised eyebrow. He was silent and still until now, I felt my skin prickle when I heard his voice. I wrapped my arms around myself to keep myself from shaking.
I decided to try to show I'm not afraid of them, I'm different. This isn't me, I'm not the girl who couldn't speak without crying. "Actually, I already met Shania too. Wished I didn't though." I spoke up with a grim expression.
"Hey!" Immediately, Ethan was at her defence. "What do you have against my girlfriend?"
I opened my mouth to snap back but Shania beat me to it. "Calm down, its ok. It was my fault anyways." Shania soothed as she rubbed her hands up and down Ethan's arm to soothe him.
I bit my lip as I looked at them with jealousy. But I didn't get to stare long because soon my gaze was diverted to the mystery guy. He was sitting on the couch with sagging shoulders. His hand was clutching some of his hair as he frowned at something he was thinking about. I must have stared at him too long because suddenly the cute couple was also watching him silently.
"You alright Ethan? What happened? I'm sure its nothing you can't fix. You know Ethan and I are here for yo no matter what right? " Shania started pestering him with comfort. I have no idea what was I walking into. I'm sure she means well and she was just saying all of this out of care but I could tell Aiden was starting to get angry. "I'm sure everything will be alright. How bad could it be?" Then with the last phrase, he exploded.
Aiden shot up from the couch, "Everthing's going to be ok? Ok? Do you know what happened?!" he shouted. "He f*cking killed her! F*CK, ELIZABETH IS DEAD!" he finally admits to him out loud. Shania's eye softens as she realized how bad the situation actually was. I on the other hand didn't know what I should do. He was using a booming voice that made my heart want to jump out of my chest.
Aiden walked up to Ethan and placed a hand on his shoulder, "I'm so sorry dude, all that work was for nothing. What was I doing the hold time!? I'm a f*cking retard!" he yelled with anger and pain. "Damn him!"
Then he looked at Shania, "You don't know how bad this is, nothing is fine, EVERYTHING IS SH*T! And its all because of that assh*le" a vein under his jaw, on his neck was popping out.
"And YOU!" Uh-oh. "Da f*ck were you doing in that park that night?" he spat as he got closer to me. "Why are you even here?! Try to mind your own f*cking business, got it? Coz sometimes, people don't like others to interfere with their own sh*t life." I really wanted to tell him to mind my personal space but I know I would regret that. "So would you just stay away from me?! UGH, JESUS, just leave me alone! EVERYONE!" he ranted on with a terrifying expression.
By the end of his rant my legs were shaking with fear and I felt a tight pinch behind my eyes. What did I do? It was a coincidence that night. Was the girl's death really my fault? I didn't even know her for pete's sake. Oh dear god help me!
He stormed out of the room and stomped up the stairs. Not before smashing a glass vase on the way up and slamming the door so hard, the entire house shook.
For the next few seconds was complete silence. Ethan, Shania, and I all stared at each other with big eyes. Only, they didn't seem so shaken up from that whole thing. Then the beeping of the smoke detecter broke our staring contest.
"Sh*t" Shania muttered as she remembered the now burnt breakfast she was cooking. She turned around and dashed to the kitchen before a fire could start.
Ethan sprinted up the stairs not long after that and went to do who knows what.
And I was abandoned in the middle of a mansion. Standing there alone in the middle of the living room.
Hope this was a good beginning.
