7. Chapter 6
I stepped out of school and headed to Starbucks. I was in a good mood today; not feeling stressed out and tired was a great feeling. I looked down at my outfit (crop top and skirt/shorts) and made sure I still look decent. Happy with my appearance, I continued walking down the street. Strangely today I didn't see Ethan and Shania at school today, maybe they ditched together. What’s also weird is that the guy from my science class didn't come to school too. Yeah, the one that I saw murder someone in the park. I still can't believe that actually happened, maybe it didn't happened. The whole thing was blurry; I don't know what’s going on with my mind. Speaking of which, it reminds me that I still have his jacket. In fact its right here in my backpack, I haven't thrown it out yet.
I arrived at Starbucks, the bell rung delicately as I pushed the door open. When I stepped into the shop, the sweet aroma of coffee and pastries immediate filled the air and into my senses. I stood there by the door for a few seconds just to savor the smell before my nose gets used to it and blends it in. I walked over to the front to order.
"One Green Tea Frappacino please." I asked.
"No problem, that would be 5 dollars ma’am." the guy replied.
As I paid for my drink and waited for it to be made I looked around the cafe. Everyday there are many different people coming here for their own different purposes. Some people are here waiting to meet with a friend, some are here to buy food, some are here to just relax and work in a cafe. Sometimes I just like to sit in Starbucks and watch the people who come and go in this cafe, you get to see different people living their own lives. I took my drink and sat in a couch by the window.
I looked outside and saw a beautiful dress that was definitely screaming my name. So I took my frappacino and my bag and headed to the door. As I walked outside, I realized that the clouds were starting to clump together and the color of the sky was dark grey. Oh great, its going to rain soon again. I sighed as I changed my course and started to head home, that dress is just going to have to wait.
I quickly took the mysterious guy's leather jacket out of my bag and put it on. Hm, I wonder when I could return this. As I walked down this crowded street I found a little alleyway between two shops. As I peeked down the narrow path I could make out down the two walls was a lot of graffiti drawings. I stared in wonder and my foot carried me away from the noisy and busy street.
I continued to walk down the alley and appreciated the artwork left behind by street artists. I realized the further I walked in the alley the more vivid and creative the drawings are. Out of nowhere came 2 drips of wet raindrops that landed on my nose. It must have started raining! What am I even still doing here? I lifted the hoodie on the jacket over my head.
"Whats a pretty girl like you doing here?" a deep masculine voice asked right behind me.
I shrieked in surprise and backed away closer to the wall. I was paying so much attention to the drawings, I didn't even hear the footsteps of another person!
"U-uh, nothing." I stared down at my shoes, they suddenly seem very interesting to look at. "I think I'm just gonna go now." I tried to walk away from him but all he did was just push me back against the cold brick wall again.
"I don't think so angel." His finger trailed down from my shoulders to my arm, leaving a trail of goosebumps. I was too petrified to do anything, I mean this kind of thing never happens to me! My heart was jumping up and down inside of me. I realized I have no chance of running away from him, he would just catch me in a matter of seconds.
I looked up from my red converse and decided to look at the guy for once. But what I saw wasn't expected, it was him again!
"Hey, where'd you get that jacket?"he asked. Oh no, what am I supposed to say? I just got it from the dead body you killed that day under the tree, yeah I saw you but I was too much of a wimp to come out. I dont think so. I looked sideways to see if there was a big enough gap for me to run through but I was trapped between his two arms. My back was sticking to the wall behind me and his face started to lean closer when I didn't answer.
"Uh-I-I," why are you stuttering Emily? Oh, maybe its because you are standing in front of a freaking murderer right now! "I j-just found it at the park one night." I wish that the floor beneath me would just swallow me right now, I can't face this guy any longer!
"Hold on, you're the person who sneakily watched me?" he said in disbelief with a tight jaw. I didn't know what to say so I just stayed silent and watched his reaction. "Whats your name again, I didn't quite catch it." his eyes were concentrated on my face intensely.
Wow, well since you forgot all about me I'm just not going to bother with you anymore. "That's because I never threw it out to you." I spoke calmly, then a small smirk formed on my mouth.
"Cute." Was all he muttered. His mouth was slightly curved upwards; playful yet seductive. I noticed that the raindrops that landed on his hair made him look like he just came out of an comercial.Whereas my hair was drenched even though I had the hoodie. Then he smirked and began to lean in closer to my body, as if he wasn't close enough.
Then his eyes started glowing, and in a second it was gone. Wha...? All of a sudden it feels like I couldn't focus on anything clearly. The world was starting to spin around and around on my feet. The only thing I could see clearly were those emerald enigmatic eyes, if you look closer there would be flecks of green-blue too. I felt like I couldn't look away, like I was trapped in the depths of his eyes forever.
All I did was blink, a single blink made this all change.
Suddenly I wasn't at that alleyway anymore, there was no longer rain pouring down on us. Instead I was at someone's house or something. I was sitting on the edge of a big comfy bed and my hair wasn't drenched wet. I was still in my outift only it wasn't wet anymore. What the...? My mind started to get even hazier than before. What is happening to me!? Whats wrong with this world? With that as my last thought, My legs gave out and I fell into deep darkness.
Yeah yeah, I know. Everyone uses that line when they write about people blacking out. But whatever.
Hope this was a ok chapter.
