The Dark and Fallen

If I told you what I was, would you turn your back on me?
And if I seem dangerous, would you be scared?
I get the feeling just because everything I touch isn't dark enough,
That this problem lies in me.
I'm only a guy with a candle to guide me,
I'm taking a stand to escape what's inside me.
You're trying to save me, stop holding your breath.
Your eyes they shine so bright, I wanna save that light.

He was dark, the fallen- a fallen angel

1. Chapter 1

Tip tap, tip tap, tip tap… I stared out the window beside me, watching the raindrops from last night drip down from the roof. I chose to sit at the desk that was right in the middle of the classroom and by the window. I don't want to sit at the very front of the classroom where the teacher watches you like a hawk. But I don't want to sit at the very back with a bunch of jocks who mess with you with their jokes and pranks.
I started to doze off into Mr.Collin's speech about the World War II. The knock on the door woke me just in time before I fell into slumber. The teacher finally shut his mouth and the school's secretary walked in. She had a quiet word with Mr.Collins and then she announced," Alright class, you have a new classmate. Please introduce yourselves when you have the time and welcome him."
But I felt like something wasn't right about this situation. Other than the fact that today was a Wednesday in the middle of May. There was one more month of school, who would move over during the last month of school? When the secretary brought the new kid over there was something in her eyes that just made you feel queasy. It was something like confusiont with a fright in it. I heard the secretary tell the new kid to come in.
"Alright, you may take a seat wherever you'd like." Mr. Collins told him. Then I heard the seat beside me screech in protest as someone sat down. I made no movement and continued to stare outside. Mr. Collins said something about discussing the chapter we had to read with our partners.  Well you wouldn't quite get much done with me because I only read the first three pages of that chapter and then I fell asleep. I sighed as I unwillingly turned to the person sitting next me.
Suddenly, I couldn't remember what I was going to say. Wow, dashing? charming? I can't think of a word that can describe this, he looks like an angel that just fell from the sky. (A/N: wink, wink)

He had dark chocolate brown hair, that was kind of tossled in a messy free way, but it still looks incredibly sexy. His skin was a little pale and was wearing a white t-shirt, black skinny jeans, a leather jacket, and a pair of new converse. As my eyes scanned him up and down, I noticed peaking just under his collarbone is a tattoo. I couldn't really tell what it was but I think its some kind of symbol that represents something. His eyes were a different story, there were just-- just mesmerising  His eyes always seemed to be shining brightly like emeralds. They're a bit empty though, behind the emptiness there is pain veiled by a thin wall of defensiveness. When you look at him your internal instincts would tell you to keep your distance and bewar--
He clears his throat, obviously knowing I was checking him out. But he didn't smirk like most boys would do, instead his expression looked bored and impatient like he had something better to do than be here in class having girls around him checking him out. Although he didn't tease me with it, I still slightly blushed a light rosy pink. I decided to be more rational and cleared my throat too.
"Ok, so... I haven't exactly read the chapter last night, sorry." I spoke out clearly. I was never the one to stutter and be shy, which right now I am very thankful for. The only time I get nervous and stutter is when I am in an environment filled with people I have never met before. I just feel like I'm all alone in a big place filled with strangers judging you.
He just slightly nods and then went back to his thoughts.  Erm…Okay? I thought, I furrowed my eyebrows. So now what?
" So uh, whats your name? I'm Emily" I asked. He looked at me again but this time he looked at me with a different kind of intensity. He was looking at me like he was trying to find something in my eyes but couldn't find it. He licked his lips and looked like he was about to speak but was interrupted by the bells and Mr. Collins. Everyone started packing up and chatting to one another. The mysterious guy left without saying another word, he was the first to walk out of the class.  Was I really that horrible to talk to? I slowly packed my own belongings and turned out the classroom where waiting for me outside was my two friends.
"Hey Emily, how was the worst class of the day?" Olivia teased as she swung an arm around my shoulder.
"Ugh, same as always. But there was a new guy who sat by me today. He was kind of hot though he showed no interest in me." I frowned.
"Don't even think about him sweetheart, it's his loss. You'll find other guys who adore you, I promise." Alyssa said in a comforting voice.
"No no, that isn't what I meant! I mean he didn't even look at me during the whole time. I bet he doesn't even know someone was sitting next to him," I exclaimed frustrated. Wait, why was I so caught up in this? I don't even know his name for  pete's sake!

"Do you have a little crush on him Emily? Its been forever since you actually liked someone." Olivia tapped her chin. "You really should find a boyfriend, someone who cares for you and would do anything for you. Like ah... Ooo Like Dave and I! Aren't we just perfect for each other?" She sighed dreamily. Then she was in her own little world, thinking about her lovely boyfriend Dave.

Alyssa giggled at Olivia's expressions, I just rolled my eyes, tired of hearing about her wonderful love life.

" Don't worry Emily, you could be a single lady with me!" Alyssa winked.

"Come on guys, I'm not even that desperate for a relationship. I was just saying, nothing special. Besides he was rude as hell! I tried being nice to him but I didn't get anything back from him." I sighed then said, "you know what? I don't care anymore, what’s so special about this particular guy anyway?"

"Maybe he is just um.... I don’t know! But who cares about him!" Olivia assured me. " I bet he isn't even good looking."
But right at that moment, the mystery guy walked right passed us. We all stopped walking with our mouths open.

"Oh my gosh! I bet that was him! Girl, you've got it wrong, he's one smoking hot guy." shrieked Alyssa.

But that wasn't why I had my mouth open; I bet he had heard every single word we have said about him. Now I know for sure that he would never talk to me again. I departed from Olivia and Alyssa and to my locker and headed home.
