"Here we are! June, wake up." Kaylee shook me awake.
"What? Where are we?" I said, sitting up suddenly.
"We're at The X Factor studio! Come on!" Kaylee grabbed my hand. I noticed something...off about her accent.
"Kaylee? Did you always have a really thick Irish accent?"
"That's kinda random, one, and two, yes, I have. I've lived in Mulligan up until about secondary school, when I moved here to Bradford and saw you." (Sorry if there's misspelled names, Kaylee comes from the same town as Niall, and June lives in the same town as Zayn)
"And then we started living together because you escaped from your drunk dad." We said together.
"Now can we go?" Kaylee asked, jumping up and down in her seat like a little kid.
"Yes, we can go in. How many cupcakes did you have, girl?"
"The remaining ones." She calmly replied.
"You ate five cupcakes?! Bloody hell, Kaylee!" Kaylee shrugged like it was no big deal.
"You're just lucky I won't go bouncing off the walls."
"Wow, this is amazing." I breathed, stepping into the huge building.
"You said it." Someone with a British accent said. I turned and saw a boy with dirty blond hair and brown eyes.
"I remember you! You're Liam Payne from the 2008 season, aren't you?" June stepped up behind me.
"Yeah. You watched that?" June nodded. "I see we'll have some competition. You ladies working together?"
"Of course! We've been best friends since I moved here two years ago!" I replied.
"We're Diamonds Shining." June explained.
"That's awesome. I'm guessing you're gonna be singing one of your original songs, then?" I nodded. "Well, I guess we'll see what happens. See you girls later." Liam waved and stepped into another room.
"That feels like I just met a celebrity." I said.
"Yeah. Come on, I filled us in! Let's go to our room, Kaylee!" June went down the same hallway that Liam did, but farther off. I followed, excited about what was going to happen. Someone rammed into me, making me fall down onto the floor.
"Woah, are you okay? I'm really sorry." I looked up and saw a blond boy with beautiful blue eyes.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I've suffered worse." The boy offered me a hand. I grabbed it and he pulled me up.
"I'm Niall, by the way."
"Kaylee." I replied.
"I see you're Irish, too." Niall smiled. He had braces on his top tooth set.
Wait a minute...he looks familiar... "I recognize you from somewhere." I blurted out. Dammit Kaylee...
"I was gonna say the same thing about you." Niall smirked. You knew that smirk from anywhere.
"You were the person that always played guitar in middle school before your parents picked you up!" I exclaimed.
"Ah, and you're the girl who wrote the stories about being trapped in Minecraft and Pokémon. Those stories were really good, you know." I blushed. "Well, I'll see you at auditions, Kaylee."
"You too." I kept walking to mine and June's room.
"Kaylee, what took you so long?!" June was being what I called 'fake mad'.
"Sorry. I crashed into another contestant and I recognized him from somewhere."
"Oh really? Who was he?"
"His name's Niall. He was at my old school, always playing guitar after school before his parents picked him up. The popular people called him Guitarer, which is a really stupid name, and they always bullied him when he started playing. I didn't want to intervene, so I stayed out of the way. I guess he just held up pretty well."
"And next up, we have Niall Horan, coming from Mulligan, Ireland." The announcer spoke through the PA system. Niall came running down the hallway.
"Good luck, Niall." I waved to him. Niall looked back at me, smiled, and waved back before going onto the stage.
"Shut up, June."
"On deck, we have a returning contestant, Liam Payne, and after that, a duo singing group called Diamonds Shining. After Diamonds Shining, we have Harry Styles."
"Is that a legit name? Who the fuck-"
"Geez, June, don't judge."
"Geez, Kaylee, alliteration problem much?" I stepped back at June's words. "Sorry. That was kinda harsh."
"I forgive you. I know you hate it when I alliterate things." I shrugged.
