BRUCE MAKES HIS WAY INTO THE RESTAURANT. He marches up to Falcone at a table alone. He is stopped by someone. They pat down his body, checking for weapons.
"You're taller than you look in the tabloids, Mr. Wayne," Falcone says. The man throws him into the seat. "No gun? I'm insulted. You could have just sent a thank-you note, us know."
"I didn't come here to thank you," says Bruce plainly. "I came to show you that not everyone in Gotham is afraid of you."
"Only those who know me, kid," Falcone nods. "Look around you. You'll see two councilmen, a, eh, a union official, a couple a of off-duty cops, and the Judge." Sure enough, Bruce recognizes the Judge, drinking away with girls at his side.
Falcone pulls a handgun and cocks it. It's pointed at Bruce's head.
"Now, I wouldn't have a second's hesitation of blowing your head off right here, right now, In front of them. Now, that's power you can't buy. That's the power of fear."
Bruce barely twitches at the gun pointed at him and says, "I'm not afraid of you."
"Cause us think you got nothing to lose, but you haven't thought it through," says Falcone. "You haven't thought about your lady friend down in the DA's office. You haven't thought about your old butler."
Bruce's eyes widen as he makes a mimic pull of the trigger. "Bam!" He says. Bruce keeps thinking and..
"And I'm surprised you ain't thought about your little sister. What's her name..."
"You will not touch Marylin," growls Bruce. "And if you do, so help me-"
"What?" Falcone smirks. Bruce wants to grab the gun from his hand and end his life, but he restrains. "You can't do nothin to me if I kill her."
"Simple. I'll kill you first."
"It ain't that simple, my friend." Making death threats about my sister? Not on my watch.
"People from your world have so much to lose. Ya think cos your mommy and daddy got shot, ya know about the ugly side of life. But you don't. You've never tasted desperate. Y-You're Bruce Wayne, the Prince a Gotham. You'd have to go a thousand miles to meet someone who didn't know your name. Don't-don't come down here with your anger, trying to prove something to yourself. This is a world you'll never understand. And you always fear what ya don't understand."
He nods to the men and they jerk him up. They punch him enough to split his lip in one punch. "You've got spirit, kid. I'll give ya that," Falcone says. "More than your old man, anyways."
"You shut up."
"I the joint, Chill told me bout the night he killed your parents. Said your father begged for mercy, like a dog."
They throw Bruce on the ground in a puddle.
He's out for my sister.
