5. Chapter 5

He was going to kill someone. Jeff was insane. He was angry at me so he would take it out on someone I loved. What was I supposed to do?
'I have to get out of the apartment.' I thought, suddenly. I left my room and searched the counter for my car keys. Finally, I found them stuffed into my battery drawer.
I pulled open my front door and immediately felt a wave of dizziness sweep over me. I clutched the door frame and closed my eyes as my vision became white. Soon, it passed. I blinked rapidly and continued to my car.
I pulled out of the parking lot and started down the highway. This town was relatively small, so not many cars joined mine on the long, dark road.
I didn't have an exact destination, just to get away.
Before I realized it, I was in a large stretch of road, surrounded by woods. As soon as I realized where I was, everything inside told me to turn around. My eyes scanned ahead for anyway to make a U-turn.
My vision began to grow white again. I blinked furiously. I could barely see the road in front of me.
I barely had time to register the dark figure appearing in front of my car before I ripped my steering wheel to the right, gasping. The front end of my car slammed into a tree, causing the front and side windows to shatter, spraying me with glass. I jerked forward, the seat belt biting into my chest. Glass cut into my face and arms. I groaned and leaned back. Blood leaked down my cheeks and forehead. I reached my already bloodied hands up to wipe the thick, sticky liquid from my eyes.
Out of my peripheral vision, I saw something standing just outside my shattered side window. I turned my aching head slightly and jumped when I saw a man in a dark suit standing there.
"Help." I croaked. Then, I began screaming. the man had no face. His skin was paper white and his arms hung to his knees. What looked like long, dark, tentacles, waved out from his back.
I struggled to get out of my seat belt, growing dizzy again. I grasped, blindly, for the buckle. It was stuck. I began to sob. I was completely blind now, but I could feel it's tentacles reaching for me.
"NO! No, someone help! Please!" My voice came out in rapid, desperate sobs.
Then, my white vision turned to black as I fell unconscious.
