My palms were sweating. My heart was racing. I felt excited and nauseous at the same time.
“So her book has become so popular, because, well, let's just let her tell you why,” I heard Ellen DeGeneres say.
Her crew waved me onto the stage. I stepped out and everyone started clapping. “Here's the book writer herself,” Ellen called over the crowd, standing up.
I gave Ellen a hug and then sat down.
“Hi!” Ellen said.
“So I read your book,” she told me.
“Yeah?” I couldn't believe Ellen had read my book.
“Yeah! It was really good! And you're only seventeen!” The crowd applauded. “So, your book is-well, you don't use their names but your book is written about One Direction, isn't it?”
I tucked my hair behind my ears as I nodded. “Yeah.”
“And the love interest is this character that you based on Harry Styles.” I nodded again, blushing. “So do you think he would like you?”
“I don't know,” I shrugged, embarrassed.
She leaned forward, conspiratorially. “Well, I happen to know.”
I turned to the crowd as they started cheering again and saw they were looking behind me. Harry Styles was behind me!
I jumped out of my chair. Harry wrapped me in a bear hug.
“Hi Ellen!” he yelled over the crowd.
He sat down in my chair. Then he pulled me into his lap!
The crowd finally started to calm down as Ellen said, “So Harry asked me to get you two together on the show.”
“Really?” I awkwardly turned in Harry's lap to look at him.
“Yeah, I wanted to meet you!” he said.
“Are you surprised?” Ellen asked. I nodded. “So not only do you get to meet Harry and sit on his lap,” Harry reached up and started rubbing my arms, “but Harry wants to take you out.” The crowd started cheering again. I thought I heard some cat calls, as well. “And since you mentioned you loved his smell in the book, we got you some of his cologne!”
“She has goosebumps,” Harry said and smirked at me.
Someone handed me a bottle. I jumped up and hugged Ellen as I laughed. “Thank you so much!”
