4. Chapter 4
We pulled up into Ashley's and Andy's driveway of their house. Andy got out of the truck and I followed behind him. I waited for them by the front door while they got my stuff out of the car. Ashley opened the front door and welcomed me in.
I walked in slowly, looking around my new environment.
A girl, I recognized as Juliet Simms, sat on the couch. She smiled warmly at me when she saw me. She stood and walked over to me, "You must be Alex, I hope you'll be happy here." I gave her a small smile and turned to Ashley.
"I'll show you where your room is." He told me. I followed him up the stairs and into room at the end of the hall.
"My room is right over there if you ever need me." He pointed to one of the first rooms in the hall. Ashley had set down my bags on the bed. i set down the cat carrier and let out Jasper. He meowed and rubbed against my legs. I shut my door and started unpacking my bags. At the bottom of one of my bags, I found a razor.
I hadnt cut in several months because my mother had found out and begged me to stop. I only stopped because of her.
What had happened increased my need to. I mean, I killed a man. I deserved it.
I slowly put the razor to my wrist, ready to cut down. A knock on my door stopped me. I quickly shoved the razor into a pile of clothes and called "come in".
Andy walked in. "Hey I just wanted to tell you the rest of the guys are here-hey? whats the matter?" He asked, he wiped away a tear on my cheek and stared at me questioningly.
I hadnt realized I was crying. "oh, I just miss my mom." I said. It was true, I did miss her.
"It's gonna be okay." he said and hugged me, tightly.
I smiled and hugged him back, I needed that.
He patted my cheek and walked out of the room.
I walked over to the mirror and looked at my reflection. The girl staring back didnt look like me.
I glanced back at the pile of clothes I had hidden the razor in. No, my mother wouldnt want me to.
With that thought, I walked out of the room to join everyone downstairs.
