Lunch. Ugh. Time to be alone after I refused an offer because I had somewhere to be when I really didn't. I'm such an idiot!
I grabbed a slice of pizza and a carton of chocolate milk from the cafeteria and took it with me to the gym. I ate it on my way, and set the unopened carton next to my stuff.
I was going to attempt to climb the rope, and not fall before I got halfway. That was the goal. My goal.
Let's hope I succeed.
I walked over to the rope and grabbed it and pulled myself up, I used my feet to steady myself and I pulled with my arms. When I felt I was about halfway, I looked down to be sure and I think I was.
But halfway is a far ways up. "Oh jeez..." I muttered to myself and looked back up. Bad idea. Why did I look down?
Okay, so I'm going back down. I slid my feet down and they slipped off, causing my now sweaty hands to also slip off and I fell. Off the rope. Towards the ground.
I won't say that my life didn't flash before my eyes as I fell, hurtling towards the ground as if I was an asteroid. Burning bright through the atmosphere as I hurtled towards Earth.
But I'm less majestic. I'm just a stupid teenage girl who can't climb a rope without slipping and falling. And killing herself.
But then I wasn't falling. Something had caught me. My first thought was I'd tangled myself in the rope somehow but when I opened my eyes all I saw was a very good looking boy beautiful hazel eyes staring down at me with a smirk on his face.
"Uh, hi..." I said, letting him set me down. "Thanks for, er, catching me."
"No problem. I'm Aidan. This is my brother Ethan." He pointed to a boy that looked pretty much the exact same as him.
"Why were you in here all alone?" Ethan asked me.
"Well, you see, I was trying to beat my record of how high I could get without falling off." I paused. "And I beat my record."
"Good for you than. But you still fell off." Aidan noted.
"Yes I did. And you caught me. So I didn't kill myself..."
"Thank you. Again..."
They smiled and I looked at my feet. "I'm gonna get my stuff and go now..." I moved around them and towards my chocolate milk. But didn't get far.
"Why don't you stay with us for a while?" One of the twins asked.
I turned back and stared at them. "You, want to hang out with me?"
"Sure why not?"
"Alright..." No one else was gonna offer....
