I stretched and opened my green eyes, let the sun streaming in from my window warm my face. It was an ordinary Thursday, the day before the final day of the week. How grudgingly it must look forwards at Friday. Poor, poor day of the week.
"Scarlett, dear, come down and get some breakfast!" My mum called up to me from downstairs.
"Kay, mum! I'll be down in a minute!" I called back, finally swinging my legs out of bed and pulling myself away from the warm embrace of my mattress and comforter.
After throwing open my closet and finding some decent enough clothes from my inside, I donned the blue skinny jeans, and blue plaid tie front shirt. I pulled on some socks and grabbed my gold necklace that had the paw print pendant on it and slid down the banister and jumped off at the bottom, throwing my jet-black hair into a ponytail.
"Scarlett, you know I hate you sliding down that banister. How many times do I have to tell you not to?" My mum complained.
"Sorry, mum. It saves energy. Its a good thing." I grabbed a banana off the kitchen counter, kissed my her cheek and grabbed ten dollars out of her wallet for my lunch before heading to the front hall where my backpack was. Might I say, my backpack is pretty awesome, blue and white stripes on those fancy canvas bags that everyone seems to love.
I slid the money into my pocket and slipped on and tied up my blue converse, throwing my backpack over one shoulder and grabbing my keys and heading out the door. "Bye mum! I'll see you after when I get home!"
I tossed my bag onto the passenger seat and started my car, glad that my favourite song was conveniently on the radio at my time of entering.
Without further ado, I pushed on the gas and headed to school.
