I heard a knock on the door, like this morning. I wasn't expecting Louis yet. I ran to check the door fixing my hair just in case. I had just been relaxing and eating Nutella. I opened the door, though I wasn't surprised, my jaw still dropped.
"I wasn't expecting you." I said, looking at Liam standing in my doorway with a fresh flower, of course my favorite.
"You're expecting someone?" He leaned against the door post and started twirling flower.
"Yes, I am." I looked at him again, didn't say anything, just kept twirling the flower. "Come on in." I moved out of the way. As he walked by he set the flower on the table.
"It's been a long time since I've seen the place, it looks good." He was running his hand along the back of the couch. It brought back lots of memories. I wanted to ask him why it ended, but I remember it perfectly. I came back to reality when my alarm started to go off. I tried to get past Liam to grab my phone, but he was blocking me.
"What is it?" I wasn't able to look him in the eyes.
"Cancel your plans. Just for tonight." He knows my answer, he's ready to argue.
"You know I can't do that." I finally pushed pass him and turned off the annoying noise. He got in my way again though, as I tried to take off to get ready.
"You can do whatever you want love." He was right, but at the same time I just couldn't cancel. I now believe you can love two people at once. As I looked at Liam, I realized I never really stopped loving him. Thinking about Louis though, I loved him too, I know I did. If I didn't why would I still be with him after all this time?
"You have to go." I said. "Louis is coming over...." I didn't know what else to say. I couldn't tell him. Liam was better at reading people, and he knew something had changed. He didn't walk out upset, but satisfied. Once he was gone I knew how to finish. ".... And I don't want anyone to get hurt. This isn't something I was expecting to happen." I smiled at the door, and headed down the hallway.
