I heard a sniffle coming from down the hall. I looked out the door, nothing.
"Two until show time Lou. Get over here right now." I read the message from Harry. I ignored it, but decided I would finally go. As I was walking out the door I bumped into someone.
"I'm sorry." We said at the same time. I could tell she had been crying, or still was, but I couldn't tell who she was.
"It's fine love. Are you ok?" She then lifted her head up and took her hood off. "What happened?" I immediately took her into my arms, hoping she wouldn't say anything about Danielle. Liam should've seen her by now, but her seeing Dani until Liam brings her by shouldn't happen.
"I'm sorry Lou." She was starting to cry again. I felt like it was time to pull away, she just pulled me in tighter. I realized she smelled so much like Liam, I started seeing him. She must have been with him before she came this way. I now wanted to know what happened between them.
"For what?" Now she pulled away. She went to wipe her tears, but I got to it first.
"For him. For you. For everything."
"You're here now. That's all that matters right?" I put my hands on her shoulders, because that's what people do when they're giving pep talks... So I hope it helps. She shrugged them off before reaching into her pocket.
She looked at her phone that must have just vibrated, then stuck it right back in her pocket. "It's Liam, again. I don't really want to talk about it right now." She said looking at me seriously. I can't talk about it right now, although I really really want to.
"I would say 'well we are anyways', but I've got a show I'm late to. Right after though I'm coming to this room, you will be here, and we are talking about it." I gave her a hug, was going to leave when I realized I didn't want her down there near Liam. "Come in here." I turned on the t.v. With how my luck was going, I thought it wasn't going to be on the right channel, but it was. "If you stay in here, then you can see the show and not even have to be around people." I kissed her forehead and left the room. I smirked to myself as I started to walk towards the sound of screaming fans... She was mine again...
"Here play these, and tell the other guys. I have to get over there now." I whispered to Josh and handed him a piece of paper.
"Liam, some of these we haven't even practiced out there. I don't know how I feel about this. Why has the list changed?" He looked up from the piece of paper with a worried expression.
"Ok give me that. I want Happily played first. Can you do that for me?" He looked at me, blankly. Wanting an explanation most likely. "Please Josh? I'll owe you mate." He looked at the ground, then shook his head.
"Ok, but if the boys mess up its on you, not us." He walked away, off to his drum set. I couldn't wait for this.
"Thank you." I said to myself as I made my way to the boys.
"What are you doing?" I heard from behind me. Louis, I would know from a mile away.
"I could ask you the same question. You know they are going to be pissed?" I looked over as he caught up to me.
"We are only late by a minute or two. May I ask what you were doing?" I noticed his shirt had a little wet spot, well I knew why he was late, but is like to hear what she said about me.
"I was talking to Josh. They, for some reason, have decided to play Happily first tonight. I think it was something about a poll thing, or something like that. May I ask why you're late?" He did one nod with his head as I talked.
"Since you so kindly answered my question, I guess I can't not tell you. I bumped into Kayla on my way out. She was crying, told me she was sorry for everything, and then you messaged her. She told me she didn't want to talk about anything right now, and told her we would be if it wasn't for the concert I was already late to. I left her in a room with a live stream of the show." Of course he did. With him now having the chance of "getting her back", technically he never lost her, he wouldn't want me anywhere near her. We turned the the last corner and saw the boys.
"Where the hell have you two been? We are late and everyone is pissed?" Niall rushed up to meet us.
"Long story." We said at the same time.
"Hey boys Happily is first tonight. No time to explain, let's just go." I pointed towards the stage, and for the first time they all listened to me. We skipped intro, just ran out onto the stage. The screams deafening, the lights blinding, the same every time. You think you'd get used to it after almost four years, but I'm still not..
"How is everyone doing tonight?" Harry yells into his mic. The crowd gets louder. "I'm sure everyone has seen the track list tonight, but there have been a change of plans." He adjusts his bandana, that he should just take off, it didn't match him. Usually he did really well with that, but it's like he didn't care tonight.
"Tonight Happily is first. Is everyone ready?" Zayn took over. He wasn't too fancy, but he looked like he let Harry dress him. I smiled out at the crowd, although I was already getting a headache.
"1... 2... 3..."
After Louis' countdown the music started. The fans were louder than ever before. I didn't really need the t.v. to hear anything. If I wanted to see it, I'd need it though. I watched as the camera followed Harry first... I couldn't tell, but it looked like his bandana didn't match tonight. That wasn't like him. The camera switched to Niall next. I watched him on the screen, but I listened from afar. It was muffled a bit from coming through the walls, but you could tell what he was saying:
" 'Cause we're on fire, we're o-on fire. We're on fire now."
Then Liam popped up on the screen. He didn't look much different than when I left him outside. His hair was slicked back now, but he hadn't changed his clothes. He looked right at the screen like he knew I was watching. I had to look away until they changed it again. I looked up to finally see Zayn, oh thank goodness. Zayn smiled as he sung, he looked so happy. I was so caught up in Zayn's happiness that I was sad when it switched back to Harry as he finished off the chorus. Now Liam and Louis stood next to each other. Liam looked at Lou as he sang, and I just now realized this song was made for them... Lou did the same, and gave him a smirk as he walked away. I ran to the door, swung it open, but Paul was standing there.
"What is going on?" I said almost immediately after seeing him. Paul never stands at the door, he's always with the boys.
"Louis told me not to let you go down there."
"And you're going to listen to him?" I snapped at him. "Please Paul? If I don't go something bad could happen." His face became a little concerned.
"All the more reason for you to stay here." He crossed his arms, standing his ground. I groaned and threw my head back.
"You're impossible." I looked back at the screen. "Now can I go?" I looked back at him. He was still watching the screen.
"We're both going. I'll be a few minutes behind you though." He stepped out of the way, his eyes never leaving the screen. This was going to be a fun night.
"What is wrong with you two?" I screamed at them as I ran out onto the stage. Suddenly the place was dead. "I'm getting sick of this." I walked straight up to Liam first. "I told you earlier that I wanted nothing more to do with you, so I want you to stop it now. I'm not losing something good I have to you because you had a chance. You're just playing this game and it's messing with my mind, making me think I still love you, but I don't. So leave me alone." I turned away from him, leaving him with tears in his eyes.
"Don't do -" He started, but Zayn stopped him. I walked a few steps to Louis, his head was down.
"I'm sorry." He whispered, but since it was into a mic everyone heard it.
"I can't believe you let him get to you. You know how he is Lou..." I felt thousands of eyes penetrating me, but I didn't have the nerve to look back at them. The place was still silent except for Lou's breathing, and only I could hear it. "I thought you were better than that. I-I'm disappointed in you." Just then Paul showed up. I knew it would be time for me to go. I turned to walk away, but Lou turned me back around. He took his mic off and the whole crowd 'aw maned'.
"Are you leaving?" He whispered, looking sad.
"I don't know what I'm doing. Just let me be at the moment, or you may just end up like Liam." It was a terrible thing to say because I didn't mean it, but he let me go. I went back to the room I was in before, not even a second after the door closed it opened again.
"What are you doing here?" She glared at me. I don't blame her.
"This is my room..." I shut the door with my foot, keeping my eyes on her. I had a slight smile on my face, but I never got one back.
"I meant, why aren't you out there?" We both looked at the tv, and no one was on stage, then the camera turned off.
"The show got canceled. Would you like to go somewhere? Just the two of us this time." I looked at the ground when she finally decided to look at me.
"A date?" She looked at me with wide eyes. "After that?"
"I know it's only been a few days, but I already want this tour to be over. I just want to be with you. I missed you. You know I was afraid of Liam. I was afraid to say something to him, take something from him, stand up to him, but I'm not afraid anymore. From now on, if I have to, I will fight every single day for you."
"Ok..." She smiled at me.
"What?" I didn't know if I had heard her right.
"I said ok. Where are we going?"
