19. A New Door
I step down the hallway, the headmistress at my side, occasionally taking a glance at me. Clearly, I wasn't wanted here with my uncared for style... well, they'd have to put up with it. I flipped when Kayla said I'd have to go back to school, as for me, it was too soon but I guess I couldn't stay in the flat for the rest of my life. Mum wouldn't want me to, and I have to make someone happy - even if they are dead.
For each of the first three lesson's the same thing happens. They introduce me, I sit down, everything's forgotten. I like that, it gives me the ability to be lost in my own thoughts, and my own little world where my mum's alive, I know my father, and my sister's actually care about me. It's the opposite to the sad life I'm forced to live... then lunch begins and I scramble into the canteen squished between towering students. Once I give the money to the lunch lady, I take my food and sit down on a small empty table, shoved into the corner. I'm living in my world, possibly in the most realistic vision ever when two girls come over and disturb me. Suddenly, I'm about to shout but stop remembering my mum.
'Hi!' One of them says, 'Are you new?'
I shrug, 'Yeah, I started today'.
'Cool, what's your name? - I'm Lizzie, and this is Hermione!' She points to the girl standing next to her who waves and mouths 'Hi'.
Back at her, I smile, 'Melody'.
'Nice - do you wan't to hang around with us?' I nod, and just like that we become friends.
