**Two years ago around Christmas**
We sang a lot of songs. Some about Christmas and some about God. They were all having fun. All the little kids. We were done around 6p.m.
"Well it was nice meeting you." He smiled.
"You too-?" I asked.
"Liam. Liam Payne." He said shaking my hand.
"Brisa Skye Coldman."
"Is Skye your middle name?"
"No. My parents named me with two first names." I explained.
"Its pretty." He smiled at me again.
"Are you from England?" That kind of came from the back of my brain.
"Ya I'm sort of an exchange student. Well actually not really we just moved to America."
"What grade are you in?"
"I'm a Junior."
"Do you go to school here?" I asked.
I grabed my keys and winter jacket. Even though it is only fall. I walked downstairs to the kitchen.
"Alex. C'mon let's go." I looked at the time on my phone. It was 6:50. Doesn't hurt to be early. "Alex. For real." He wasn't in the kitchen. He must be in my car already. I unlocked it this morning to grab my coffee cup. So he could if gotten in there.
I turned off all the lights and I shut the door behind me as I left. Backpack check. Keys check. I locked the door and start to walk to the car. Like I thought, Alex was in there already.
I opened the driver door of my little used Saturn Ion that I got for my 16th birthday. My parents bought if off of somoene. For like 5 Grand. Let's just say I have no graduation money coming from them anymore.
"Alex you should really tell me if you leave." I grumbled.
"Well you shouldn't be late. Austin's waiting." Austin and Liam stayed here with their dad after Liam's parents divorced. His Mom went back to England.
I drove in silence. I was slightly cold so Alex kept turning the heater up. My mind drifted to my dreams. The water filling my lungs. Then he saved me. Who is he?
"Brisa." he called my name. Sight kept going in and out of focus. From my dream to the road. Lately it's been bad like that. It's been hard to focus.
"Brisa!" I snapped back into reality. I was about to drive over the edge and into the ditch. Alex looked at me, frightened.
"Sorry Alex." I said as I dropped him off at school.
"Just be careful Bri." He warned.
I drove towards the high school. I parked my car and grabbed my backpack from the backseat.
I missed riding to school with Liam. He and I would talk about our futures. We both wanted to have something to do with music eventually. But now I work at the ice cream shop down the road from the school during summers and he works at the library.
"Hey Bri." My really close friend Clarissa waited for me inside at my locker.
"Hey Clarissa." I opened my locker and shoved my things inside.
"So. Did you see the new kid?"
"I just got here so no." I laughed.
"Well people say his name is Chris Styles." Clarissa told me. She always knows what is going on with people. It's like she's a gossip magnet or something.
"Chris Styles?! Oh my gosh I'm going to faint its Chris Styles!" I mocked.
"Um. Hi. Don't mean to interupt you but do you know where room 137 is?" There was someone behind me. I turned and there was this boy who was my height. Maybe a bit taller, with dark brown, curly hair. He had an oddly familiar face.
Suddenly it felt as if water filled my lungs. Or so I thought. I started to cough. I bent over on the ground trying to get the "water" out.
"Are you alright?" He put his hand on my shoulder. I regained my ability to breath.
"I'm.......ok." I stood up and closed my locker. I took big breaths.
"I can ask someone else." He offered.
"No. Uh actually I'm headed there."
"Oh, cool." Clarissa walked along beside me and him until we got to our home room. She wanted to drop her stuff off.
"Where you going?" She asked when I sat my bag in the classroom. Chris, I think his name is, was waiting outside.
